Lance Briggs was all set to take linebackers coach Lloyd Lee to the Pro Bowl when Lee unexpectedly canceled the Hawaii trip Monday night.

Something indeed came up as Lee is on his way out of Chicago. His release was announced by the Bears Tuesday afternoon.

Lee is one of three defensive coaches that won't be with the Bears next season. Defensive backs coach Steven Wilks was fired last week and defensive line coach Brick Haley is headed to LSU for the same position.

Briggs was surprised by Lee's departure.

"I've always liked Lloyd Lee,'' he said. "It's no fun to go through a bunch of [position] coaches. But you do what you must.''

Hopefully.

He was one of the only Asian coaches I knew in the league. Kind of sad to see him go, I could have sworn he has been coaching for longer than that though.

It's funny that Lovie is blaming all the other position coaches, and passing blame on his buddy Babich. If Babich stays, and the defense still is putrid...Lovie has gotta go, along with Babich.

Or....

Hopefully this is a sign that Babich gets demoted back to LB's coach....we shall see.

Hub Arkush (no idea how to spell his name) said that this basically confirms that Babich will NOT get fired. Lovie and babich are best friends, and the other guys are talking the hit for it. Babich isn't going anywhere.
