WEFFPIM's Tidbits - Bears Edition
-So, a few of you know my schtick by now (a lot of you hate it. Whoops). I find flaws in many things and make fun of them. Over/under of balloon boy references in this section is 3. This previous one counts.
-I wonder what made Jerry Angelo choose Frank Omiyale instead of, oh I don't know, a jar of perserves. Was it sex? Cause that's all I can think of.
-Jay Cutler got himself a nice little extension this past week, and he didn't even need to use Extenze.
-So which is it? Is this line making Forte bad or is Forte bad? Or a combo of both? Because I'm hesitating to make comparison to Rashaan Salaam, but good ole' #22 ain't helping.
-Rejoice, Bears fans! We get to see Cedric Benson perform at a level we all thought he could perform at before he found out he hated the media and went all drunken school girl on a boat. Frankly I'm stunned he didn't have his own version of the Viking Loveboat by now.
-We also get to see our gun buddy Tank Johnson. Let's be honest, if you would have told me that Tank Johnson would be wearing orange stripes by now I would have assumed he'd be in Joliet.
-Chad Johnson has said some stuff that I haven't paid much attention to in preparation for this game. And please don't tell me, I haven't paid any attention to it for a reason.
-Truly I forget the existence of the city of Cincinnati from time to time. Not to the level that I forget about the Rams, but occasionally I forget the city of Ohio has three large cities within its borders.
-Hey, the Bengals are shockingly good. Just one hideous knee injury away from being completely irrelevant again, so let's see how this story unfolds.

That's all I got. Only that one balloon boy mention, so your attention-whoring attempt didn't work, you psychotic excuse for a father!

Good Luck, Jay...and RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

Bear Down.

Just when I say it's the line's fault, Wolfe comes in vs. the Falcons game and rips off a couple of nice runs when Forte previously struggled to get anything at all. It might be worth saying that few RBs were as relied on as Forte last year and the wear-n-tear might be showing.

Antwan Odom is out for them I think.

That's a huge boost for us.

Similarly Tommie Harris being out for us, shouldn't make a huge difference. He's not the same guy he used to be

We'll see if Tommie being out actually has a negative affect at all.. I'd like to see gilbert get some PT

I sincerely doubt we'll even notice...unless his replacement actually - y'know - DOES something.

Tommie's toast - basically starting based on rep.

EDIT: from Biggs......

Harris missed one game in 2008 because of the knee and another game when he was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. The Bears paid Harris a $6.67 million roster bonus in March believing he would return to top form.

Oh jeez..... :o That's the same month he had knee surgery and hamstring issues. Money well spent. Just awesome foresight. His next bouns is due by 6/1/2010 ($2.5M). No waaaaay he gets that. Fool me once.....

Big bounce back game for us. I think we'll play much better. Tough matchup but I think we'll beat them. We almost beat the Falcons despite a dozen mistakes that should not have been made -- and won't this week. I don't think Benson will get 100 yards against us. Bears 27, Bengals 17. Somehow Bears find away to beat the Bengals and improve to 4-2. We really really need this. 3-3 with two games left against Minnesota (both losses) and Philly is not the best situation to be in.

Cutler 25-37 for 288 yards and 3 TD's
Forte 19 carries for 58 yards
Bennett 8 reception for 66 yards
Hester 6 receptions for 92 yards

Ocho Cinco 5 receptions for 79 yards
Benson 24 carries for 87 yards, 1 TD
Palmer 25-33 for 309 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

The Bengals are pretty banged up on defense and lose there top pass rusher for the season.

The Bengals ranked 28th in pass defense. Cutler should have a field day.

I expect the Bears to win this one.

Think the Bengals are a good matchup for the Bears.

Bears 24
Bengals 14

Why does Cutler always look like some grade school teacher that really doesn't want to be there?

We're lookin thin at DT for this game. I was expecting one of Gilbert or Toeina to get some PT or at least be eligible to play this week.
