Its a win, but I struggle to take any positives away from this game.

Defense shut down a joke of a Cleveland Brown offense, and they were good at generating turnovers.

The offense, especially the red zone offense was a joke

About as unimpressive win as you can get so it's hard to get excited. Counts as a win in the standings but I don't see any progress being made in the least.

The offense was just disgraceful. They owe everything to great field position offered by either our defense or special teams. Cutler was running for his life back there and was left barking for the plays to get in more quickly yet again. Beekman was only the slightest improvement over Omiyale, the knock on Williams not having a tough-guy mentality looks accurate, and Pace is easily beaten off the edge by speed rushers. Ron Turner should especially be proud of his calls in the red zone. Lookin' good, Ron !!

Defense looked pretty solid - sure - but it's against the Browns. Every defense expects to do this against the Browns. Tommie Harris vowed to show up big today and he actually had me believing but - again - he's all bark and not bite these days. Another nothing game for him - he's toast.

If we don't get tougher in the trenches on both sides of the ball in the offseason it's not going to get any better and without our 1st or 2nd rounder, it's going to be up to free agency.

Rest of the year......

11/8 Cardinals : Loss
11/12 @ 49ers : Loss
11/22 Eagles : Loss
11/29 @ Vikings : Loss
12/6 Rams : Win
12/13 Packers : Win
12/20 @ Ravens : Loss
12/28 Vikings: Loss
1/3 @ Lions : Win

And there's your 7-9 season.
Turn down for what?

Ron Turner NEEDS to go at the end of this season. Lovie Smith should go too.

i cannot remember feeling so crappy after a victory. we just look horrible. Cutler will be lucky to finish the season able to walk with the offensive line. i have never seen such a terrible offensive line. as bad as we are, the browns are that much worse lol.

yep 7-9 sounds about right. i see the cardinals beating us in Bengals-style. imagine Fitzgerald against our secondary lol. he might have 300 yards....

Great post !

My thoughts exactly.
A plea for post scoring is a plausible Bulls plan, but plainly isn't a priority. In response to a post player's dismay about his lack of points in the paint, Paxson said.... "I'm not nearly as concerned about the offensive stuff as he is."

Wow. We played like crap for the most part and it ended up in a blowout. The Browns are simply THAT bad.

That's what I took from the game too.

I did a radio show near Cleveland this morning and it's real interesting to me how this game is framed. They were actually kinda pleased with their play--they ran the ball well, the pass rush came alive, the secondary tackled well, red zone defense was awesome. I've been listening to the Score off and on all day and the Bears coverage is entirely focoused on the negatives. The winning team is pissed off, the losing team is encouraged

Per wiretap.....our overwhelming , demoralizing, and convincing victory was the last straw in Cleveland, as the GM has been fired.

Browns GM Escorted Off Practice Facility, Believed To Be Fired
2nd November, 2009 - 8:08 pm
Plain Dealer - Browns general manager George Kokinis was escorted out of the team's facility in Berea by security, two league sources told the Plain Dealer

He is believed to have been fired.

The Browns did not immediately return calls or emails, including an email to owner Randy Lerner.

One league source said "Kokinis is a great guy who does not deserve this. He is taking the fall for the team's problems and it's not right."

Lerner had previously stated that he wouldn't fire Eric Mangini.

That's just a ploy and will do nothing for the Browns at least for now. That GM was put in place by Mangini. That's the guy who really needs to go (thought he was bad with the Jets; couldn't understand why the Browns wanted him in the first place).

It's been a little while since losing to the Bears cost a GM his job.

Ah, the glory days
