Best circumstances this season?

Post#1 » by Celtsfan1980 » Sun Aug 13, 2017 5:28 pm

I'm trying to be realistic. I see last year's Titans as the best circumstance:9 wins, a top 5 pick, and a good young quarterback.
Kizer shows a lot of potential. I'm not thrilled with next year's quarterback class. I'd prefer Jimmy Garapollo, Cousins, or even McCarron over all of next year's quarterbacks with one possible exception(Darnold). Out of respect for Joe Thomas I'm trying to win in 2018 unless there's a great quarterback prospect.
A much improved defense. See the New York Giants. Improvement from Schobert, Kirksey, Boddy-Calhoun, Orchard, and one of Nassib or Ogbah. Garrett looks legit, Peppers shows potential by the end of the year, and Trevon Coley lives up to his hype from training camp.
The running game shows big improvement, including rookie Matthew Dayes.
The Texans pick finishes 5-8 and a good wide receiver is available.
Trade away the second first rounder for a future first round pick, and possibly one of the second round picks depending on needs.
May want to find Joe Thomas' replacement.
I'd possibly trade Osweiller for a third round pick. Not expecting more, wouldn't trade him for less.
