I hate this pick now
We gave up our second rounder this year and first rounder next year. This is exactly the trade I did not want. He'd better be astounding cuz I will boo early and lustily if he is not.

The Browns are having the best draft this year

First next year and 2nd this year, but it was worth it in my mind... We have the capability of being a good team next year..
How do think Charlie Frye feels?
We get Thomas to protect him than BLAM, get Quinn..

This blows.. Under no way do you give up next years first rounder. Top 5 pick going to Dallas.

Well i'm happy 4 them. Even thought I hate him cause he played for Scrotum Lame, he gets 2 play 4 his hometown team.

And they gave up next years first round pick? The pressure's on now. For the sake of Browns fans he better do good. And also it be good 4 them if he gets the calls in his favor like he did in college. Probably cause of the Brady name

Brady Quinn is the most Nfl ready QB and will be a star. Although we gave up our 08'1st and our 2nd round pick the Browns won't regret the trade.

I think this sucks and it really hangs Quinn out to dry if he doesn't come in and produce immediately. If theres not a marked improvement, I'm going to be pissed about giving up a high first rounder for him.

Wow what a first round, regaurdless of what you had to give up...You guys are going to have some talent on that offensive side, and your are well on your way to getting out of the basement

I'm never worried about the draft the following year... So losing next year's first is not my problem.. Nobody ever knows what is going to happen... Hell, I would not be surprised if the Browns moved up next season... You just never know..
I just wished we could have traded a 1st and 3rd, and kept our 2nd in this draft...

Took some time and here are some reasons, why I think this was such a great move:
--- Who's a good QB next yearthat? More than likely we would be in position to draft a QB next year because Frye isn't close to being the answer... Brian Brohm would likely be a top pick and we probably wouldn't be that bad next year... Besides him, there is no other quarterback worth taking early and there could be an argument made that Quinn is a better QB than Brohm.. And looking at it from that perspective makes it an even better traded... And even looking farther down the road, the 2009 class will be crap.. So basically this was get your QB now, or wait for another QB, which wasn't looking bright... So being stuck with Frye for a while isn't something the Browns wanted...
--- With Quinn falling out of the top 10 and top 15, we likely won't have to pay him as much as we would have to pay a QB next year or if we drafted him in the top 3 this year... Now he'll likely want more money then the position he was picked at, but it will be no where near where it would be to take him higher...
When you basically look at it, we get for a fraction of the cost and a very smart move salary cap wise...
--- Say we do draft a QB next year and Charlie wouldn't have worked out this year... Well we'd take a QB a have to sit him out a year and that'd likely be 3 years away before our QB is ready... That's way too long for us to wait...
This way we get a QB who can sit out this year and be ready to play next year compared to just drafting a QB that year...
That's a huge plus...
--- When you have a chance to get a franchise QB at the 22nd freakin' pick, you do everything you can to do it... QB is the most important position in the NFL period.. He may not have the physical attributes that a JaMarcus Russell has but he has enough of them or be good enough in that area to be successful...
What separates the two and what will make one a franchise QB and one a bust, IMHO, is what Quinn has above the neck...
In order to be successful in the NFL you have to have all the intangibles and be able to diagnose defenses, match-ups, etc... You have to be able to do that...
Another plus is that Quinn is such a hard, dedicated worker... He is always in the film room and trying to make himself better...
--- Say we draft Quinn with our first overall pick.. That puts an awful lot of pressure on the franchise, coaches, front office and Quinn to produce... Well with the drafting of him as our 2nd drafted player, the pressure to play/have an impact right away is taken away by taking Joe Thomas... Because he's a guy who gives the fans what they want and eases the pressure off of Quinn...
--- Giving up a first round pick next year is hard, it is... But you can't live in the future, you have to live in the now... You can't worry about next year because you don't know what will happen... When you have the chance to do what he did, you take it...
Plus I think we will be better next year... We have drafted two great players, made great strides in FA... We will be better and will not be in the top 10...
We were 6-10 without all this influx of talent and had bad luck last year... I think we have a chance to win any where from 6-8 games next year which would be out of the top 10...
Overall it was a great move that will pay off...

Quinn did not cost us the 22nd pick, he cost us a high second and as yet undetermined first rounder. That could end up being very expensive. Frankly we don't know yet. As far as next years QB's I put both Brohm and Henne over Quinn.

Okay, I was pretty hot under the lid at first. I'm okay with this move now. It's not great, but it could be if things turn out right. I'm looking at this from the view of not where Quinn was picked(22nd). If you told me before the draft started, we'd get Thomas AND Quinn for #3 overall, next years first and this years second rounder. I'd probably jump at that without thinking a whole lot. With the money we have invested in the OL and WR/TE. I think we owe it to ourselves to make this move. We still have picks 3-7 this year and 2-7 next year. I think it's the right move. The next big moves are finding depth at CB and DL help. We may very well go WR too if these WR's keep falling.

They will also probably be looking at a RB in the later rounds as well and wouldnt it be something if we got Micheal Bush. Obviously he got injured and that is why he fell but that would be 3 guys that could have gone early in the first round. I hope the next pick is DL but I wont be unhappy if we went after a CB.

I never paid attention to the Browns until today. I will definitely keep an eye out for the Browns next season. Whatever the case maybe, there's going to be a lot of expectations and coverage on the Browns with Quinn on board.
