Romeo is back and other offseason business

The Browns signed Crennel to a 2-year extension this week. This comes after canning Todd Grantham at Romeo's request and giving piles of $$ to Chudzinski. All sound moves in my book.

In Mobile the Browns were very keenly watching the DE drills. I know they spent time talking with Andre Fluellen, Kendall Langford, and also Pat Sims, who plays tackle. They also gave the impression to me that they are looking at lower-rung WRs, which reinforced what someone said about the Shrine game.

I've read on a few sites that the Browns are now the favorites to win the AFC North. I really like everything Phil Savage has done for our Browns since taking over, much deserved extension for him(and Romeo). That said, I hope the media comes off this recent Browns lovefest. It's good to have our team feeling short changed, rather than thinking they've arrived already. It almost seems like a dream, just two years ago I couldn't imagine this team being talked about in a good way. It feels good to have genuine expectations for the Brownies.

Overall I'm satisfied with our team heading into next season. We could still use another LB, CB. Since we're going into this draft without a pick in the first 3 rounds. I think this would be a good year to look at the top punters/kickers in the draft. Phil has been great, but he doesn't have a big leg. I actually like Phil because he is accurate, the kickoffs though are a liability atleast. Zastudil had back problems that lingered all of last season. That may be why he had a career low net-average of 36.2 per(40.2 career avg). I'm not sure of the cap hit we'd take for replacing either Phil or Dave, but where we pick it's hard to imagine any other position(s) making an immediate impact.

Chaun Thompson also just signed with his hometown Houston Texans. Not a huge loss, but I was hoping to bring him back as a backup to Wimbley. Are we looking at any other LB's in free agency? I know the Browns had an interest in LaBoy before he signed with Arizona. Would anyone like to bring in Clark Haggans perhaps or even Takeo Spikes(just released)?

I haven't followed this draft as closely, since the Browns traded a good bit of it away. So have any of you done a Browns mock or seen any good ones? I'd like to learn of some of the fourth round and lower types that the Browns could bring in at RB, LB, CB. We're finally to a point where it's not a garauntee that these late round picks make the team. Any new info you can pass along Icness?
