Am I the only person not on the Murton bandwagon?

Yeah, he's a solid hitter..

But he hits 60% ground balls, is not very good on defense and doesn't have a very good arm.

I don't think he's part of the longterm future plans in the OF.

Hopefully the OF of the future looks like this:

Soriano - LF
Pie - CF
Colvin - RF

No I have loved Murton since day 1.
He just is not getting proper playing time by Lou.

I must admit that I haven't ever been sold on the idea of Murton being a fixture in a corner. I don't think we have that third spot on the roster right now.

Soriano-Pie-???

Trading any of the outfielders (except Floyd IMO) is fine if only to make it easier for Lou to get the guys in normal routines. Right now there is just too much platooning going on.

Yeah I want the same lineup everyday. That could also help the team more on a chemistry level.

I think we can get more for Jones than this.

Well if NY really wants him they may give up a lot.

New Rumor:
Angels looking at Jones
Among the players the Angels are believed to be interested in are Colorado third baseman Garrett Atkins and outfielders Brad Hawpe and Jeff Baker, outfielders Kevin Mench (Milwaukee), Jacque Jones (Chicago Cubs), Pat Burrell (Philadelphia) and Emil Brown (Kansas City), and third basemen Morgan Ensberg (Houston) and Edwin Encarnacion (Cincinnati).

Boosting their leverage in trade talks is a surplus of starting pitchers

Anyone that is better than Wade Miller/Guzman for the 5th spot is someone I want.

Santana is better than everyone on our staff except Zambrano and Hill.

Santana is struggling so far this year (2-4, 5.50 ERA) Last year he went 16-8 so he does have success. I would love him on this team.

Yeah but they would be expecting a lot in return besides Jones.

I'd do Jones+Veal+Ceda for Ervin and a mid level prospect. Don't know if LAA will though.

Yeah, I apologize to the board for briefly thinking he was worth something in the other thread. Let's just cut him and eat the contract at this point.
