Tank Johnson signs a 1-year deal.

First off, I question the timing. Why do this three weeks before the draft? This is a weak draft for DTs, but you could've probably signed him at any old time and used a little gamesmanship. Was there honestly a huge market for Johnson's services?

Second, I question the nature of the hire. There are now five DTs on the roster, assuming that John Thornton is indeed brought back, and none of them have the flexibility of shifting over to end. Johnson's game conceivably complements Peko's well enough, but there are now guarantees that he even starts.

Third, Mike Brown has never learned and he never will.
