I have no idea what people are seeing now....we have no way with matching up with phoniex now....if kurt thomas could push yao out and hold his ground think what shaq will do, plus yao won't be played one on one anyway.

Kurt Thomas can't hold his ground with Yao. See the games against Seattle this year.

This helps us because we are no longer in the position of scrambling back on transition D because Stoudemire will always beat Yao down the court, and then Yao can guard a traditional post player. If I could take any center in the league right now to go against Shaq I'd probably take Yao.

Yeah Yao does a great job, but this Suns team is dangerous with Shaq, do not underestimate them, im actually picking them to win the west.

In the playoffs it's about match ups. Thats probably why Phoenix to teams with big men in the playoffs like the spurs with Tim Duncan. If they play against the Rockets, whose going to defend Yao??? Stoudamire would probably get fouled out and if that happens, theres no more big guy down low. With Shaq, they can have defense in the post and they can have a big body to go up against other bigs.

thinking about this trade a bit deeper, I would say the Suns made a big mistake...they will miss Marion more than they think...
this guy grabs rebounds, tips in or out the ball, he knows where to place him self in crucial moments, good pickup for the miami heat, they can go ahead and rebuild, Shaq is done...I do not see him making any significant difference anymore

THink about it.. Shaq wants to win he wasn't going to do that in MIA again.. which is why he we going to miss a ferw months.... which now he's coming back next week. But PHX can now run and play a half court game which makes them a better team, thier interior D improves, a backcourt of Amare and Shaq, Shaq can get a D. Rebound and throw and outlet pass and stay back if they're running..
I think Kerr is smart and this is an excellent move

and they will miss Marion but it wasn't working out anyway

Even more important, a move like this in the highly competetive WC might drop Phoenix out of the playoff race.

He's not serious. On this board, we like to joke a lot about other teams.

Right now as the 8/9 seed, we're only 5 games out of first and 3 games out of 10th. He has a point, it's not an open and shut case to make the playoffs for anyone in the West this year. Last year's champs are 2 games away from dropping out of the playoff picture. If this trade doesn't work and Phoenix goes on a losing streak, they very well COULD drop out of the playoff picture. It's not overly likely, but it's happened before, and with bigger leads than Phoenix has. Which team was it that went into total freefall mode in the second half of the season sometime around 3-7 years ago and dropped from top-tier to well out of the playoffs?

get lost troll and stay on your own board.

worry about the lakers first haha, which was the main reason why the suns traded for shaq, to piss off kobe, which is not a good thing, it will actually even motivate him to kick shaq out of the playoffs

I noted that it's unlikely. Impossible it's not, however. You can say bookmark it, or anything else you want, but it's VERY possible for you to drop out. "Unlikely" is not equal to "impossible". Edit: Meh, you did say "virtually". I'm a bit brain dead right now. I'd still say it's more likely than "virtually impossible". Probably in the 70-90% unlikely range.

Now as far as that top 3 seed? That's going to depend a LOT on whether Shaq actually meshes as well as the people who think it was a good trade think he will.
