I like Luther, but he has too many negatives to really expect me to count on him. He's undersized, not good defensively, a poor passer and a bit turnover prone. He's a nice guy that could provide some offense or shooting in different situations, but from an overall standpoint a guard with more size would be more ideal.

After watching the draft in here for 3 years and how well everyone predicts all the players, I'm dreading another sit through this year listening to everyone KNOW that some player is going to be awesome before almost inevitably being wrong.
There sure are a lot of people who "know" a lot about the draft (here, ESPN, GMs, anywhere), in spite of the fact that it's basically a crapshoot.
(prompted by, but not in response to, "trade Head for Petro (no) and draft some guy")

Morey 2020.
Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

hmmmmmm..... I would think that you would talk about B Jackson with these negatives, why did the Rockets trade away Wells for a smaller SG? When you already have a younger one in Head........ The Rockets need to think longterm in regards to either T-Mac or Yao? One will not be healthy throughout their career. Blaming role players for your stars downfalls is pretty cheap. I am just not understanding, Luther has definitely helped this team, played his role, and has even given more, but nothing is enough, a bigger guard that will probably get traded for another older, and smaller SG.

We traded Wells for Jackson because:
A.) He's a much better ball-handler than Head, when Luther is forced to play that PG position he's often very turnover prone and relies on too much help when pressured full-court. And Brooks was struggling and really too young to rely on in a playoff setting. I agree with Jackson being more a SG than PG but he's much more a PG when comparing him to Luther.
B.) So we could use his expiring contract next year in a possible trade scenario. His value next year as a 6 million dollar expiring should come in pretty handy for a team like say Memphis to clear some salary and for us to acquire hopefully more talent.
And when did I ever say Luther didn't contribute to this team or ever blamed him for our lack of success in the past? He was a big part of our success in the regular season last year. He's a role player and though he was the worst player on our team in that playoff series, it's on the stars and had McGrady or Yao stepped up we would have easily advanced.
Though I criticized Head after that series (and rightfully so since he was garbage) I never gave McGrady or Yao an excuse. Again he's a nice player to have in certain situations but he can't be counted on since he's undersized, cannot handle the ball and at times lost defensively.

Some of you people are just funny. Head is what he is, a scorer trapped in a point guard's body. He has improved every year he has been in the league and there's plenty of reason to believe he will improve even more next season.
Head for Barnes? LOL. Barnes has exactly one thing on Head: size. He can't hold Luther's jock in any other department, basketball-wise. There's a good reason why GS refused to pay him last offseason, and why he can't get off the bench this season.

I don't want Barnes, but Head is expendable. If Head had even average handles and vision of a NBA PG I'd have no problems with him. He looks horrible on defense because he has to play SG. He has range and he can create his shot on his own or through Adelman's offense.
Still, we could probably resign him cheap and he is effective in small ball line-ups. But he'll be a bench player all his career if he can't develop PG skills (though a key reserve mind you). I do not want to just dump him though, and doing a 1 for 1 trade involving him would probably have no net benefit. However I would not mind if we traded him to move up in the draft, or as something to sweeten the pot on a larger deal.

This pretty much sums up.
