agreed. would be great for Mutombo to tutor Roy Hibbert since both are 7'2" shotblockers out of Georgetown.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I believe Deke is a good locker room "stablizer". He will also be good for the younger players and set a good professional example for them to follow.

Morey had earlier said that if Deke were back for another year, he believed he will more money available to sign up other players (I guess Deke's motivation to play is less money related).

it's kinda sad how much better our defense gets when a 42 year old steps onto the court (relative to when he's on the bench, post-Yao injury). I didn't understand why he didnt play more when Yao was healthy b/c he would of taken a lot of "load" off of Yao. He showed he can obviously still play at a decently high level.

Thank you for coming back next season.

Now only if we can get Hibbert.

Great news

Although I do feel kind of bad for him..... he's hoping for a ring and all we've given him so far are first round exits.

I love Deke , always great to have him on our lockerrom.
We need to play him 10-12 minutes a game though.
We can't let Yao play 37 minutes again, the same with T-Mac.

Why do you guys want that slow bum Hibbert??? :noway:
We need an athletic 4/5 to backup & play w/ Yao sometimes. Somebody that can defend 6-11/7-0 Pf's next to Yao when needed. Scola 6-9, Landry 6-9 and Chuck Hayes 6-6 had trouble defending long 4's like Lamarcus Aldridge 6-11, Amare 6-10, Garnett 6-11, Bosh 6-10, R. Wallace 6-10, etc.

Hibert's Weaknesses:

2008-09 Championship Depth Chart
1) Ben Gordon/ Aaron Brooks/ Rafer Alston
2)Tracy McGrady/ B. Barry/ V. Wafer
3) Shane Battier/ R. Artest/ C. Hayes
4) Luis Scola/C. Landry/Joey Dorsey
5) Yao/ D. Mutumbo/Sean Williams

Who do you want at 25 then? Joey Dorsey? Devon Hardin?
I think Landry can be that atheletic 4 if he can stay healthy.

I like Hibbert because he's similar to Yao so when he subs for Yao the team doesn't have to make huge adjustments.

This is Hibbert's description on nbadraft.net and it errily sounds like the writer is talking about Yao:

Strengths: Center with great size and strength ... Has soft hands, excellent touch on his shot ... Strong rebounder ... Very good free throw shooter, (around 80%) which is especially important for a center ... Post moves are developing well ... Smart player, has a good understanding of his role and what to do on the court ... Strong character guy ... Hard worker, has shown great improvement in his skill level, body and conditioning in his time at Georgetown ... Has transformed himself into a legitimate prospect ... More athletic than he appears ... His quickness in decision making has improved ... Body strength and agility seems to still be developing, his upside is very intriguing considering how much he improved in the past year ... Good vision and passing ability ... Calm demeanor, never gets out of control or loses his cool ... Has the size to block shots inside without jumping ...

Weaknesses: Limited athletically: Lacks quickness, speed in the open floor, and explosiveness ... Has trouble against big and athletic centers, must work on ball fakes and becoming less predictable offensively ... Runs very stiff, slow transitioning from half to full court ... Has decent shot blocking skills due to his size, but lacks great quickness and reflexes vertically ...

• Athleticism He'll be the most Athletic Center in our rotation if we draft him.
• Mechanical post-game So he does have a post game? That's better than 90% of the centers currently in the league
• Quickness in paint See Yao Ming, Mutombo
• Lateral quickness See above
• Conditioning See above
• Assertiveness he just needs to block shot and rebound. What is this assertiveness ur referring to?
• Lack of substantial improvement recently You mean he had a super Junior year that he couldn't top this year? This guy shoots 60% from the field nevertheless
• NBA teams preferring to play small-ball See Yao Ming, Mutombo
• Lack of improvement from junior to senior year Isn't this the same as lack of substantial improvement recently?
• College system makes him difficult to evaluate So is everyone in the draft
• Can his body handle 82 game season? I dont see why not.
• Backup/Fringe Starter? Backup

Hibbert wont be there at 25. THe guy is a 7'2 legit Center. He'll be gone looong before we get a chance to draft him.
