I think I have a better solution for both parties. How about this?

Battier-6.37
J.Butler-2.55
#25
=8.92

for

Hedo-6.86
Redick-2.14
'09 second rd pick
=9.00

This way you get another ball handler given your similar pg problems as us, many on our board don't like the idea either because of this fact btw. This would take the pressure off of Tmac so he doesn't have to feel like he has to facilitate the offense so much, and play more off the ball while having another passer at the three. It doesn't cost you Landry or even Hayes, but a lesser backup pf and a late first rounder, and you get a backup shooter behind Tmac. You would look something like this then:

pg-Alston,B.Jackson,Head
sg-Tmac,Redick
sf-Hedo,Hayes
pf-Scola,Landry,Novak
c-Yao,Woods
ir-Reed,Brooks,?

We get a guy in Shane that can defend the sg spot, and allows us to move Lewis back to his natural position to maximize our huge investment. A few of us don't feel that Hedo can play sg, and it might be too much money coming off the bench. We also fill a need at backup pf with Jackie and get another prospect to help even things out at #25. We could take on Head if you need to get rid of him, but I'd rather not. Just in case your interested, we could then look like this:

pg-Nelson,Duhon(mle),J.Williams(LLE)
sg-Battier,Rush(#25)
sf-Lewis,Evans
pf-Battie,Cook,Butler
c-Dwight,Hibbert(#22)
ir-Gortat,Foyle,Bogans

Obviously those draft picks could be flexible with us taking CDR or Lee at wing, and Koufos, Speights, or McGee up front depending on how it shook out, but anyway, would that fix the problem with the trade?

Jackie Butler was cut long ago.

I dont know about Battier, filler and #25 for Turk, Reddick and 2nd round pick. I'm on the fence on this one, leaning towads no.

Ah, thanks. I didn't know, just saw a guy on the hoopshype roster that appears to be what we are looking for, a bruising backup pf. Many of us want to get a high second rounder to get a guy like Dorsey, and he looked like he could fit that bill, oh well.

IMO it would take Battier and Scola to get the Magic to move Turk. Trading Turk essencially for Battier is a step backwards for Orlando, especially in our system specifically. This is probably too much for Houston to want to part with, so I do not see a deal getting done.

The 2 trades I would do is Landry/Battier for Hedo/Redick with no picks(to make it fair for both teams) or Battier/Hayes/#25 for Hedo/Redick. The first one, you guys get one of the best playmakers in the league. With Yao behind Tmac and Hedo your defense won't be that bad. Hedo isn't a terrible defender if he's guarding SF's. He's obviously not Battier, but you gain a ton more offense in return for less defense. Like someone said, we were 6th in terms of defensive efficiency this season and that is with a SF playing PF, a terrible defensive PG, and playing in a much quicker offensive system. I definitely think the amount of offense you gain in that trade would balance out the amount of defense you would lose. From an outsider it looked to me in the playoffs you needed ANYONE next to Tmac that could make a play. It was Tmac, Tmac, and more Tmac making plays for himself and the other guys on your team.

The 2nd trade you upgrade your starting lineup for essentially your 4th string big man and a late 1st, rather than a potential starter in Landry.

Hell would you guys rather have Bogans then JJ? I'd do either of those trades with Bogans over Redick if that is the deal breaker. I was just assuming JJ would be a better value.
