I take everything he says seriously - because RonRon ain't stupid. Yeah, he proclaimed "I'm like one of the most
ghetto-ist guys in the NBA". But to him, 'ghetto' = 'strong and authentic''.
Once he and Yao have a few days to hang out together, Yao will understand the RonRon Reality. And that reality is
'Ron is a very bright realist. He knows what needs to be done to make himself not only a better basketball player, but also a more marketable brand'. Yao gets branding. He's not stupid, either. It doesn't matter what narratives the media tries to sell/create about Artest. That's only business. It has nothing to do with what happens between teammates. Ron knows it. And Yao will too, once he realizes Ron's just telling (in the long term sense) a story with a different context than his own. Ron is simply creating a brand.
And Yao, like me, is waiting for Ron to bust Matt Harpring in the jaw. So there's that.
