BTW, that central park thing isn't a bad idea.... Now all I need to do is win the lotto.

I had a friend who used to work at Houston's back in the late 90s. He also said that it's a great place, but I've never been there.

I wouldn't think it would cost more than... 3.5 to 5 grand? Edit: Nevermind that. Not if you want to do it in a week. Two weeks maybe, but not one.

No idea where you'd find a singing midget though. Craigslist?

I have another idea. Tell her to meet you at your place saying you are taking her out to a new restaurant your friend recommended for dinner. Before you leave pretend to be busy ask her to Google map that place for direction. You of course leave your PC on with this thread open so she can read it. If she sees it....maybe it's a bad idea, what if she doesn't see it? I don't know. I just think it would be awesome if she knew it before you guys went out for dinner, then you do nothing during the dinner to make her wait. Hahahahah

I hiked up a mountain with the largest waterfall in the area at the top. Popped the question at the base of the fall. I don't know that there's too many waterfalls near dallas though. Natures beautiful though, maybe use it.

Nature. Good idea.

On second thought, it may be a bad idea. How hot, I wonder, will it be August 8th?

It makes sense. You didn't know if she had it in her to finish med school, but now she did and she's gonna be rich so you decided you want to keep her and her money forever. :D

Congratulations man.

First of all dude, don't be a troll. If you want to talk trash, let's keep it basketball related. There's no reason for you to make comments like that in this thread.

Second, I've been with my girl for 8 years. I met her when she was an undergrad, LONG before she was even thinking about med school.

You may be a money grubbing bastard, which is fine, but to insinuate that I'm classless is uncalled for.

That was quite a reply, dude.

My father did it in an elevator. He had it stopped, and my mother was worried, and all, and sayin' they were gonna be late and that I was waiting, but he just told her to calm and that he had something for ger, and he did the whole thing.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.

This is what I did:

First I took her to her favorite restaurant. Then when we got back we watched a movie and ate a fancy dessert that I bought. Originally I was going to get my buddy to set the dessert out and some flowers so that it would all be ready for when we came back, but he had to work late.

At 8pm (8/08/08), I popped the question.

She said yes. She's sharing the news with the neighbors (her friends) right now. I just wanted to let you guys know how it turned out.

I know, right?

I haven't been able to find an avatar that I really like since my Drago one, but for some reason I don't really want to go back to that one.

Any suggestions?

Hm, there's a comic somewhere that shamelessly exploits the big three russian stereotypes - funny hats, grizzly bears, and vodka. If you can find that (and paste me the link), there should be something useful!
