I'd also be leaning towards Francis to play the backup role. I don't think Brooks yet qualifies, and is very inconsistent. Francis, isn't a bad defender himself especially if he uses his bulk body, and I think he'd be the perfect fit to come in for Alston.

Some recent pictures of Steve looking slim , hopefully he gets to about 70-80% of what he used to be but I really doubt it and have no expectations.
And about Brooks I really want to see him start to make his 3's , he was advertised as a lights out shooter in college and it was annoying seeing him throw brick after brick from 3 last year.

Yeah, thats what I was saying earlier, if Francis shows up to camp in shape and plays well during the presason I think he is a capable backup for Alston. But if he is out of shape I see him possibly getting waived.

How does anybody figure that Brooks would be the primary backup PG. I dont expect him to get too much PT at all this season unless (knocking on wood) somebody gets hurt. I think Brent Barry will get most of the minutes at the Backup PG with Francis getting spot minutes there and at the backup SG spot. That is until Stevie takes over the starting PG spot.

Brooks will come around.. I've seen him play since his days in Seattle and every level is the same for him.. He starts off slow until he understands his role but after he gets his feet wet he's money..
It's hard to come into the NBA when your of smaller stature and truly kill. He was probably very pressured last year and when he did get in the game felt like he really needed to perform. Once He understands and realizes that he has to let the game come to him he will truly shine. Who knows? maybe it will be this year, maybe it will be next? One things for sure tho, once he does you're going to have a truly gifted PG running your team. Best of luck next year Houston.

Aaron looks lost and lacks confidence.

I really wouldn't go that far , the biggest problem with him is that he couldn't hit anything from out side and hats supposed to be his strength.
And I don't think he lacks confident , he never hesitated to put up shots he thought were good and when opposing point guards tried to pressure him he easily blew by them and started the offense.
