Yea not that worried about Head. Its Brooks more so. Too many turnovers...struggles to defend and can't run the offense. Wishing on Francis is a long shot. If he comes back and contribute then great....but thats a long shot. Brooks right now is back up to Alston and he doesn't look good at all after too games and big minutes again the other team's scrubs.

I don't mind Head that much since he won't be handling the ball that often. He is a nice spot up shooter for Adelman's system; just another 3 point threat IMO, which is never bad to have. Brooks, now I have a problem with him. He is pretty inconsistent, and like Teckon said if Steve Francis doesn't make a good comeback, we are going to have to do something about that backup spot. Can't have Alston playing large chunks of minutes, and have him accidentally get injured; he does a nice job of running the offense, and plays some pretty solid defense, he'd be too valuable to lose. I'd say we make 1 more deal, because Brooks IMO will not cut it.

Brooks is... not coming along all that quickly.

Head seems to have shown some more improvement with his ball handling and driving skills. For the second season in a row, I'm impressed with him (but still expect/hope he's near the back of the lineup)

Dorsey needs to petition the league for a special 12 foul per quarter exception

Von Wafer is ok but cut

I think Mike Harris is Azubuike II - could start or be soon off the bench for a lot of teams, but still has trouble making ours.

Looks like it's Harris or Strawberry, ... man. I'd hate to see Harris get cut again.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

From what I have heard it'll be some Francis but mostly McGrady at PG to back up Alston. One thing is for sure..Alston can't play the mass minutes he has played each of the last two seasons.

Brent Barry with 8 ast in this game. Impressive. If Barry can reproduce this type of stats, then he can be the playmaker regardless if Head or Brooks is playing beside him.

Edit: Blinebury just called for Head to get the cut to give Von Wafer a chance.

You actually don't have to know that. In fact you already know. Consistent players don't get bounced around as much as he has. I say we give him a chance...but I dunno if you let Head go. To me Mike Harris doesn't belong.

Barry is a good play maker...showed that in last year's playoffs. But I for one would play him about 15mins a game..no more. This is a guy that we'll need should we make the playoffs. Need him rested and ready to go. I am sure he'll see minutes at the point but I think Adelman is gonna run a point forward more often than not this season simply b/c McGrady, Artest and Yao on the floor at the same time doesn't work as good unless one of em is essentially a point guard. Luckily for us one of em is and it would be well served to use him. We'll have to figure out something defensively though..

I think Barry is going to fit the way Jon Barry did with us; but better. This is basically an upgraded version of Jon Barry, and in the type of system either one of those guys would love. I really liked the signing, who knows he may even be our backup PG; he knows how to handle the ball very well, and has very high bball IQ.

Iggyemu,
We're prob going to see Adelman use a Barry and Brooks/Head duo to start 2,4Qs like he used Jackson and Head late last yr. Brooks will get early nod,but if he continues to struggle I'd expect Adelman will replace him w/Head.

if Brooks struggle
most likely is us clearing a spot to sign Damon Stoudamire

Hey guys, new here. I think it's still a little early to be giving up on Brooks. Point guard is the hardest position to learn, especially on a contender. Tony Parker took awhile, and while Brooks will never be that good, he does have game changing speed for short bursts. We've got more than enough ball-handling until he figures it out. If he doesn't, well we gotta jetison some contracts at the deadline anyways, right. :D

The thing to remember about Brooks is Morey said Brooks was 2 yrs away when he was drafted. The Rockets weren't expecting Brooks to be a significant contributor til next season. The problem is the PGs they brought in last yr couldn't get it done. I expect end of Nov the team will have a good idea of what Francis can contribute and will prob trade for a PG at that point.

Offensively I think he'll get it in time. Defensively his size is a problem. He'll never get it defensively and Alston isn't getting any younger so we need a PG to emerge as a good defender.
