So I dunno if its good to talk about this now but what the hell. Our opening schedule is yet again probably the most difficult in the NBA. 10 road games...6 game road trip...all in the first month. All games against quality playoff worthy teams.
On one hand you like the fact that a team with new personnel will get a chance to come together. I mean the road trip is huge with lots of days off so thats a good thing. The bad thing is that we have yet to get everyone on the floor for a substantial amount of time. This preseason IMO has been a failure so far. McGrady has played 1 quarter. We have had no Battier. We have yet to put together the type of play a team with our opening schedule needs to come out of the month with a .500 or winning record.
So we have about 2 weeks left and two games before opening night. You can't win a title in November but you can lose one. I know we have the talent but we have no chemistry...we haven't played the defense needed...we don't look like a team that can survive this month. Color me worried that things could go real bad in this first month.

No, you can't lose a championship in November. I do agree that from what we as fans can see, we haven't done the things that we should have been doing this preseason. For all we know they've been running it in practice and will be laughing their collective asses off when our full lineup is trotted out and takes the league by storm though.
The defense things somewhat worries me, but not too much. Battier is our defense's lynchpin. Pull the pin and things fall apart.
What DOES worry me some is Artest's fit in our offense. It hasn't shown up how he'll fit in so far, at least not while I've been watching. It might run WORSE while he's in there. :shudder:

I definitely expect the Rockets to win the opener, but your scrubs were playing our scrubs so I wouldn't use that as a reason not to lose.
