This couldn't be further from the truth, you do know we as in Laker fans on our board and here in Los Angeles NEVER EVER EVER thought Mihm was going to be equal to Shaq. Where did you pull that from ?

[quote="obinna"][quote="jove9"][quote="obinna"] You have reading to much of the Laker fan propaganda who expected this guy to be the second coming of Shaq. Actually us Laker fans were saying "and this is what we got rid of Shaq for'?!

Wait. Did you just say that Mihm was garbage, but suggest instead that we get Kwame Brown??? Am I reading that right?

Maybe you don't watch basketball but Kwame Brown is actually a very good post defender. He just has cement hands and cannot catch a basketball. You have reading to much of the Laker fan propaganda who expected this guy to be the second coming of Shaq. Mihm is better offensively but that isn't what we are looking for. There is a reason why Kwame Brown started over Mihm. Try watching more basketball.

Coming from a Laker fan, this is spot on. Kwame is an excellent post defender, as well as being a very good passer and screen-setter, but he leaves much to be desired on the offensive end. Despite his offensive short-comings, it should be noted that he was still quite efficient, leading the Lakers in FG% the year before last. As long as he isn't counted on to produce offensively, he's a great addition to any team in need of a big.

Huh?

Kwame always played C for the Lakers, whereas Odom always started at PF (during the same time period, that is).

Oh, and I don't think Mihm can help your team much. On defense, he's atrocious, which I'm sure is not what you're looking for. Offensively he's showing flashes of his former self, but he'll never get back to where he used to be. He's a great teammate, and very dedicated, but he simply isn't able to contribute much of anything due to his prior ankle injuries.

Dyess coming on the market any day now. Maybe he is worth taking a look at. Although I could see him going back East and joining Cleveland or something.

Mcdyess would only crowd Scola, Landry, Hayes, and Dorsey... He's only 6'9" and slightly washed up... Landry and Scola have a go too jumpshot plus they are younger and Landry would murder Mcdyess's athleticism because he's much younger and superior in that aspect and Dorsey is too. So what purpose would Mcdyess serve.. too short for backup 5 and 4 out here in the west as our PFs are just barely getting by with their size. We should have intervened and got Diop or K. Brown when we had the chance both legit defenders and rebounders that have the size to backup Yao..

No, I live in LA and that's not true. He played PF for about his first two months there, with Mihm playing C and Odom trying to do his best Scottie Pippen impersonation at SF. It was Phil Jackson's first year back and they were struggling. Once Mihm went down, they moved Kwame to C and he played much better. He just didn't have the face up game necessary to play PF in that system.

Thank you. Finally, someone with a recall greater than 6 months.

I have been hoping Mihm would get playing time last year and this year, but there's a good reason Phil Jackson didn't play him even though he was no longer on the inactive list. His defense is too awful to get any meaningful minutes, and his timing on pretty much everything is still way off. Rockets are better off looking for another option.
