When will T-Mac's injuries not be an exuse?
I am one of the biggest McGrady fans ever, but this injured excuse is getting old. I've been hearing it for 3 years. I'm not questioning if he is injured because that isn't the issue. At this point only 2 conclusions can be drawn a) he is too soft to play thru injuries b) he is way too injury prone to play. Both aren't acceptable for a $23 million player. If he is injured he should just not play. The second he plays bad everyone defends him by saying he is playing injured. So at what point is the injury excuse invalid?

Never, he said openly that his body can't take an entire 82 game NBA schedule.

Ask any NBA player and they will tell you they are never 100%. Imagine if you were in the league. I play like 4 times a week and i'm still banged up most of the time, and this is just rec ball. The excuses have to end though b/c if you're not able to play, you are hurting the team. In my opinion, he's just using the "injuries" as an excuse, like he has been the last 4-5 years. It's f'**king time to man up!!

When he signed his contract he wasn't injured. Afterwards he was. Whether this happened from bad choices, bad training, or just that his body can't handle it, we don't and won't know. Not everyones' body can hold up to pro sports as well as others. There's tons of examples, I'm not even going to cite them. Hey at least he plays injured. Lots of guys cut their fingernail and miss games.

When he doesn't have to play season after season of doing close to everything for his team to win perhaps

So, everyone wants T-Mac to drive to the rim.. Then says why is he using his injuries as an excuse..
You know he is already not 100%, so you demanding he drives to the rim will make that number go down.
I do too want him to drive to the rim, but I dont say he uses his injures as an excuse because i know how it feels.

What I don't get is how you had the whole summer off even from early May and at the start of the year you start off still saying you are hurt.
Doesn't make sense to me. This Rockets team is stacked, and to me anything less than a title should be a failure.
A dominant Big man, A Great Wing Player, A great 3rd scorer/defender and a great 4th option all in the starting lineup with a guy who is a good 6th man off the bench. And just a great defensive team. If you can't win with that then I don't know what to tell you.

Except we don't have a dominant big man, or a great defensive team, our great wing player isn't quite so great anymore, and our great 3rd scorer/defender is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode and his offense is and always has been overrated IMO anyways(probably his defense too).
They have some kickass uniforms though! And I'm quite fond of Clutch.

We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

I dont think McGrady would be playing as much if Shane Battier was healthy enough to play. We cant be to dissapointed with our 4-3 start. That is far from disastrous.

Re: When will T-Mac's injuries not be an exuse?
If your such a big mcgrady fan you would know the answer to that question.
Mcgrady is an injury prone player,,,,thats all there is to it. It has nothing to do with his desire or heart,,,,its his genes.
Last year he looked in great shape coming into the season and scorched utah for 50+ and had some crazy dunks at the beggining of the season. Then he got injured.... so dont tell me he doesnt get in shape,,,,and when has the guy ever gassed after playing 40+ minutes.
Some of us are born with bodies that get injured from wear and tear,,,,u cant blame the guy,,,,its not an excuse its just who he is. He played through needing 2 surgeries against the jazz who are one of the most physical teams in the league,,,,and played big time minutes so enough with this mcgradys to soft to play through an injury crap the guy needed double surgery and played through it.
I love how much mcgrady trash talk goes on but yet the only time we can win is when he plays good as in tonight on the road against pheonix. Accept that he does get injured but hes game for the playoffs thats who we got so deal with it. Its all about being healthy for the playoffs and if we are then we will be a force to reckon with once yao and artest hopefully blend into adelmans chemistry. Because last year without them both at the end of the season we had great chemistry and showed a lot of heart
