We've been hearing those things for years from some people.

This is the post of a loser. The type of guy that just satisfied with 22 game win streaks and making the playoffs when the end goal is winning a championship. Step your fandom up. This isn't about nice regular seasons...this is about a championship...and the people like myself that complain look at the big picture not fluky win streaks.

i believe jove has a fiancee who just finished med school that he's going mooch off of , and I don't. If he's a loser what does that make me???

The point was why would people be complaining in the middle of a winning streak??? Don't complain when things are going well, and that was happening. Like all NBA fans, nobody here will be truly happy until the Rockets win a championship, but all the damn negativity from people who expect them to go 82-0 is annoying. If we lose, point out what you think was done wrong, bitch about it for a few posts and go about your business. Saying we have flaws and championship teams don't have flaws is not only bull, but it's annoying as well, and becomes even moreso when people complain about them endlessly.

BTW, A.J. so now you have Jerrod Johnson as your picture. Is it A&M now???

The "big picture" is that you're cheering for a corporate entity and/or Les Alexander's pocketbook and/or the success of 12-15 guys + supporting cast whose personalities you appreciate in spite of the fact that you probably have never mt them and even if you have, probably still don't know them all that well outside of their public persona. The big picture is, as was asked in Gladiator, "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?" (cheesy, but true) I'm perfectly satisfied with 22 game winning streaks, making the playoffs, and good, exciting basketball. I'll be concerned with winning and losing in my personal life and let the victories of an entity for whom I happen to enjoy cheering on fall where they may without too much concern so long as it doesn't interfere with my entertainment value, thanks.

I'm not exactly a "winner", whatever that is (though I don't do bad by any means), but neither do I require other people to do my winning for me as substitute edification (unless personal stake is involved - i.e. betting/stocks/management/etc).

That said, I'm not happy with the team right now because, spurts aside, they're not currently capable of playing that great. That may not be the case if Yao, McGrady, Battier (and to lesser degrees, Scola and Rafer) are capable of recovering from whatever's dogging them, but right now, in the words of the venerable compucomp, they are horrible and yao is on a rapid career downslide that will find him retiring all thanks to Adelman ruining him in the high post. It's too early to hit the panic button, but some temporary disgruntlement isn't uncalled for.

Uh... I'm a little more worried now than I was 48 hours ago. TMac has had two absolutely terrible performances, and basically just shrugged them off. Our other offense - Yao and Artest, mainly - has been nonexistent, unable to compensate.

WTF is going on? This team seems like it just wants to lay down and die. Why? Because you've got a tough road stretch? Boo F*ing hoo, that's the name of the game. If you don't like it then get another job that will pay you millions of dollars for not working.

I'm generally optimistic where the Rox are concerned, and where this season's team is concerned, but there are some serious questions that need to be answered at this point.

Mostly, what the hell is going on in your head, TMac? Snap out of it!

Brooks is stll capable of doing an Allen Iverson Impersonation on the court. Let T-Mac rest and let Brooks be our very own 5'11 Swing. Why not?

J-Mezzy wrote:Hell, I am not even a Rockets fan and I am very dissapointed in the way some of you are reacting to the team's recent struggles. This team is on it's way to a victory tonight which will leave them at 4-2.

Let's go over some things:

They lost to the world champs and despite piss poor performance by Yao, they had a shot at winning the game.

They lost to a Portland team that has been very good at home, and despite another piss poor performance by Yao, it took a miraculous shot by Roy to lose the game.

Tonight, all 3 stars are struggling, yet it looks like they are about to win. It doesn't matter if the Clippers suck. They are an NBA team and they are at home.

The Rockets have many things to look forward to, Battier will be back, they still need to adjust to each other....and most importantly, when the hell was the last time the Rockets had a good start to the season? They always struggle at first. This team will be fine, give it some time.

Yao is not trash, McGrady is not washed up, and Artest is not a bad defender. Alston will pick up his shooting.

As bad as things have been, you are still not behind any of the division rivals.

It is still early, and despite the poor play, you are still(should be) 4-2. Give the team some time, they will get better.

It's the usual, when we win nobody complains. I know we are 5-3, two loses to last year Eastern and Western champs and one to incredible shot by Roy. But look at our stats...

Pts 93.6 - 6th in the league (counting from the bottom)
FG% 41.8 - 3rd in the league (counting from the bottom)
3P% 35.7 - 15th in the league (right in the middle)
FT% 83.0 - 1st (we are actually good at something)

Our pts differential is only 2.5, our opponents had out shot and rebound us. They only thing that's keeping us in the game is free throw. I don't know if we can keep this up when we can't shoot free throw anymore (I actually meant T-Mac).

I don't see the PPG or offensive efficiency going up for at least a few more games (if it does), but still expecting that point differential to get to at least around 5+ when Battier gets back.
