i think its time for dorsey to get some playing time

Post#1 » by coolguy569 » Sun Nov 23, 2008 7:43 pm

there r times out there when we could have used dorseys big body to get some rebounds or blocks, but coach adelman refuses to let him play. he hasnt played one minute this year and its going to kill his confidence. he should be allowed to play when we have a big lead towards the end at least. it cant hurt. what do u guys think?

He's not proven, he does essentially the same things Hayes does, except not as fundamentally sound. I think we have better options at this point. As for playing in the blowouts, we haven't had any, except when we were blown out by the Lakers and he did end up playing towards the end of that game.

Maybe some playing time here and there would be nice to see what he can show, but we're already pretty stacked with undersized PF's that bring it on one certain side of the floor. I don't think his confidence will really be shaken, he was a 2nd round pick, and on a team expected to try to contend for the championship, he honestly couldn't be expecting big or any minutes in the first place.

I've been calling for Dorsey to get some PT for a while. I think Dorsey will start getting PT some time in January, and I think he'll have a positive impact (similar to what Landry did for us last year).

Dorsey needs to remain on the bench. Did anyone see him play in college? The guy is a good defender/rebounder, who makes boneheaded plays, can't keep his mouth shut, is foul prone, and is nothing on offense. Defense isn't the Rockets problem and neither is rebounding so why does he need minutes? He is not better than Hayes so I see no reason why he needs to play.

Defense has always been our biggest strength, but right now our defense is subpar. The problem behind this isn't due to an individual. Rather, each and every player on this team is playing bad defense. And giving Dorsey some playing time will not affect our overall defense.

I think he deserves some P-T.. And yes I saw him play for 4 years and he is what the rockets need.

Um then that means you haven't watched the Rockets play. It either one or the other. Is he better than Yao, Landry, Scola, Hayes, or Artest? Short-answer: No. So why should we have a 6 man rotation for our bigs? That makes NO sense. An 11 man rotation is not realistic. If he isn't better than Hayes, (which he isn't) then he should get no playing time. I'm pretty sure he is there in case of injuries (ala Mike Harris)
