Re: AP: T-Mac Out 3 Weeks
Just sit him until postseason, I dont want to see Tmac limping his way around the court.

Well your post made no sense no offense. If you dont know hwo long he was out u shouldnt attack him,,,,,u might have stuff against him from the past. But to say he cant recover after 8 months,,,,,when the whole reason he needs more time off is because he took 5,,,,makes no sense.
Regardless of how long it was...to everyone's knowledge the surgery he had on his knee was not a very serious one. Yes any surgery is something...but he is an athlete who had all that time between May and October 29th to recover. There are players in this league that would be back to full strength in that time. Look no further than his teammate Yao Ming who broke is foot. He was back by August and now he looks fine in November. McGrady had 5 months like you said and he comes back limping worst than he was in playoffs last year. Thats just unacceptable.
The guy doesn't have much work ethic and a lot of that stems from the fact that he hasn't had any success in this league. I use to read stuff about how hard he worked in the offseason when he was in Orlando. He obviously doesn't do that anymore. He doesn't know what it feels like to advance in the playoffs. He is human...that can take a toll on you mentally and it has for him.
Its really hard to argue a guy being injured. But in this case its easy because I just don't get how you can have all that time to recover and still come back with a pretty severe limp to the point where you can't be a factor in a game on most nights. It just seemed that he got worst after 5 months to recover. Thats simply ridiculous.
Everyone thinks im trying to defend mcgrady,,,,
Everyone is right. You are. But fear not...you too will have your 07 Utah Jazz series game 6 moment that will open your eyes. The guy has poor habits on and off the basketball court. Nobody ever said he was a bad teammate or not a nice guy. He just gives his fans a lot to defend and nowhere near enough evidence to back the defense up.

Nice to see U again man .

It seems that the journalists who have constant exposure to T-Mac have, perhaps not so subtly, shown their disgust.

They seem to have started a "Pay for no play" count. Basically the amount he's being paid to sit out. Right now it's at $772,934, 3 missed games at $257,644 each (I guess it's not retroactive).
The Chronicle has influence and they know it. A friend of mine is a reporter for them. Interesting that they did this. They see him many times a week, guess they're not fooled either.

First off you say yao came back in august,,,,his surgery was months before tmacs and its not like he came back and looked good,,,,,heck its been almost 10 months and yao is still struggling to score 20 points as well he may not be limping,,,,, but he isnt dunking.
You also compare his injury recovery to other players,,,,,first off he had 2 surgeries,,,second tmac came out of high school,,,,,hes old in nba years and his recovery time may be slow,,,,,u dont know if it is or not so this has nothing to do with his bad habits as u state. If u had some facts maybe id listen a bit more. You also say he hasnt had much success in the league,,,,have u honestly even followed tmacs career??? Yes he hasnt made it out of the playoffs but look at the support he had in his prime. Drew gooden as a rookie was like his best player on the orlando team,,,and mike miller whos really good now and hes playing with al jefferson whos a really good player and they can barely win a game. Ask al jefferson how he feels having mike miller as his second best player,,,,nevermind make the playoffs.
Mcgrady has had a rough ride,,,,in orlando he had no support and a horrible gm making decisions, After that he had nagging back injuries,,,,,and dont tell me back spasms and injuries come from a bad work ethic,,,,,u either have a bad back or u dont. Also you say his work ethic is bad,,,,but last year he came out of summer camp in great shape,,,,,,dropped 47 on utah in utah and he looked very explosive and then got injured. Im giving u multiple examples showing him come out of training camp in good shape. Also you say he was limiping after 5 months of surgery,,,,,no he was not when he first stepped on the court and tried to strengthen his knee then his knee got worse,,,,,thats not bad work ethic either he listened to the doctors and his knee got worse. He was not limping in the first few games that badly at all.
Sorry man but everything u say isnt even close to a fact. I understand your disapointment with him but i have not seen him come out of summer camp in bad shape,,,,,and to say hes taking awhile to recover,,,,hes old,,,,,and he thought he was recovered but his knee got sore like how can u blame that on his work ethic he tried to strengthen it.
And to say ill have my 07 jazz moment,,,,,ive been watching tmac play since his first game in toronto (im from toronto) so im well aware of his game. Also what do u mean by 07 game 6 jazz moment,,,,,didn he drop 40 points and grab 10 boards being covered by 3 different very good defenders on the road??? Do u kno how many players in this league can do that?? Is he worth the money hes being paid,,,,,of course not,,,,has he been injury prone most of his career yes,,,,does that automatically mean he has a crappy work ethic no. You also gotta keep in mind to win 50 games and have to play the best home court team in the league in the first round is pretty tough,,,,its not like out in the east.
Im as frusterated with tmac as the next guy ive been a rockets fan since i was 10 and been watching him play since he came tot he league and was always a fan. I blame it on his horrible injury prone body,,,,and his lack of mental toughness that some ppl just arent born with,,,,i do not question his work ethic or desire to win. If he was fully healthy thers no doubt in my mind he would push himself as far as he could especially in the playoffs.
The only person ive noticed that i agree with on this board is ShaY for the record lol

Re: AP: T-Mac Out 3 Weeks
Maybe the dude should seriously just take some time off and rehab the hell out his knee/back; you guys can stay afloat without him, and then make a postseason push when he comes back.
But really, why doesn't he do this in the offseason?

He did rehab in the off season , how good or how bad we don't know BUT.
Initially the recovery time was suppose to be 4-5 months , then T-Mac said the doctor took another look and said the recovery time is 6-8 months , is T-Mac lying?
And btw he wouldn't get bashed if he would just sit out the start of the season instead if helping us to get off to a decent start , people would have just assumed the injury is more serious than we initially thought.
Even if he can't aggreveta his injury that doesn't mena that he is well enough to play.
