Ron Artest's injury worsens...

Post#1 » by jzmagik » Sun Jan 11, 2009 4:27 am

Apparently Worrel said Artest will be out at least a week from having a stress reaction on his injured ankle... I wonder if he's going to need surgery.

Let him rest. Don't rush him back until he is 120% healthy. We have Battier back, we should be fine without Artest's Defense.

We may actually play better on offense without him.

I swear that Rockets has the worst physical trainer. Fire him RIGHT NOW. It is not a joke.

Will it take surgeries on all 3 stars to get Morey to fire the trainers?

its a stress reaction.. it was probably all those times when he saw we needed him and came back.. what gets me is why no one said "no ron we need you to rest" trainers just let him come back without much of a fuss. Thats one of the many problems with the Rox players just doing what they want telling the coaching staff what they feel is right..

We should start a thread for this.

Keith Jones didn't sprain Artest's ankle, and unless he pulled his best Kathy Bates impression, he's not responsible for the foot injury either. Accidents happen and injuries are part of the game.

The only reason why Jones would be fired over this is if he DIDN'T put a boot on Artest's foot even though he needed one.

Let's be reasonable here.

I've said it when he initially injured his ankle. He should have been out for 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, but he came back the next game. There's nothing wrong with running on an ankle sprain, but when you have to cut and put torsion at different angles on a bum ankle, you run the risk of injuring it even more. That's probably what happened here. Your body is very good at compensating for injuries and a lot of times it's a different joint that ends up hurt b/c it's trying to overcompensate for that weak ankle. The trainers SHOULD try to force the players to sit out!! But then again if they really wanted to play they could run around and pretend like the injury doesn't exist....it's hard to blame anyone for injuries, unless somebody deliberately caused an injury. Let's just hope everyone on this team is smarter about taking care of their body for the long run.

Was Artest ever injured this severe when he wasn't in Houston? Despite him being suspended for misconduct and domestic abuse, I can't think of when I've seen Ron Artest this injured. It might be the Rox curse that made him injured. Guys this was suppose to be the year we won it all or at least get past the first round, but our team has some freaks that always get injured. Here's a toast to Luis Scola, our one and only significant iron man.

He's always been a little injury prone, remember? Last year he only played 57 games in Sacramento.

Check his stats for yourself: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/ron_artes ... stats.html

566 games of a possible 777 - 72% of games played per season. Also, before this year Battier had only missed 2 games
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

Will Ron ever make a 100% recovery? This is worrisome..

Knowing the Rockets personnel, when anyone is listed out for a "week," it generally lasts longer. These injuries will never stop, I just hope we can have a legit 20+ games where everyone is healthy, everyone shuffling in and out of the lineup just creates more confusion.
