Ron Artest
I am just wondering what is your general consonance on the guy this year? I would have loved to have him in toronto but of course he is not a "character guy" that Brian Colangelo likes smh. I watched the game where he was playing against Utah on one ankle cause Tmac could go lol and he left everything on the court. To me this guy doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves and is misunderstood.

Consonance?
Anyway I wouldn't say he is misunderstood. He is crazy and roughs people up on the court. He does give full effort though, but people never questioned his effort.

Aside from the injuries, he's been good for us, but his true value won't be measured until later when all our guys are hopefully healthy.

Re: Ron Artest
The overwhelming majority of Rocket fans are happy w/him.
I,however,am the contrary a-hole who thinks it has been a bad trade so far. Take into account I was opposed to the trade as I thought Ron was injury-prone,breaks the offense and his defense has slipped. To date,Ron has been in and out w/injuries,called out for breaking the offense and the Rockets team D has been really bad w/Artest playing in place of Battier. On the other hand Ron has been instrumental in a few Rocket wins.
However the season is not quite half over, and if the team gets healthy, learns to play together and has a nice Playoff run,the trade will have been worthwhile. So far,for what the Rockets gave up,and the results to date,I'd have to say the trade has been a disappointment.

Re: Ron Artest
Tis, I'd have to agree with you with all three of those points against, but am curious how it was a bad trade so far? Bobby Jackson can't exactly light it up anymore and might've kept Brooks from taking the primary backup spot, Donte Green is in d-league, so it's basically a late first round this coming year for Artest. I still think that when Battier gets back to full capacity, things will start running more smoothly on defense, same with McGrady (and somewhat Battier) on offense, but yeah.. in the meantime, still not sure how Artest for 2 late 1st rounders and a contract was a bad trade.

Don't you see, Moofs?
It was a bad trade because we didn't get our third scorer and because Alston wasn't included in the deal.

Re: Ron Artest
Moofs,
The Rockets used their best trade pieces to get Artest. I agree that 2 hopefully mid 20s Firsts and an expiring is not too much for Artest-but he has to deliver,as the Rockets basically shot their wad to get him.
Who knows what the Rockets would have done if they knew they couldn't have traded for Artest? I seriously doubt they would have stood pat. I could lay out dozens of coulda, woulda, shouldas, but from what we knew at the time the Rockets would have acquired another wing.(For example,it was "reported" in Atlanta that Houston was one of teams that tried to get Childress.)

Re: Ron Artest
Ah yeah, that works.
We do still have an expiring 7+m contract coming up if so deemed useful by the trade deadline. Wink wink nudge nudge. (not that i deem it likely to happen)
