Seriously who makes the schedule
Currently, we have the most games played at 39 games.
and out of those 39 games, 23 have been on the ROAD
we are also tied with several other teams with the LOWEST home games played at 16
we just finished a brutal stretch of 3 straight back to backs which we played 6 games in 9 days
before that we had another stretch of 3 straight back to backs in december, in total we had 5 set of back to back games in december.
in total we have had 12 set of back to backs since the start of season, which i'm pretty sure that is the highest in the league.
And the schedule doesn't stop there, our next 4 games look like this:
Tue, Jan 13 LA Lakers
Sat, Jan 17 Miami
Mon, Jan 19 Denver
Wed, Jan 21 Utah
WTF
This isn't the first time, every year our schedule starts brutal and the team never gets into any groove because of the losing.
and the injury certainly does not help us.

Re: Seriously who makes the schedule
So what...it just means our schedule "should" be easier and we get more home games down the stretch, right? Right at the same time that we desperately need more days to practice and get healthier.
Things tend to unfold as they should.
Things tend to unfold as they should.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Yeah exactly, so whatever our upcoming schedule is, it can't be worse than what we've gone through.

Re: Seriously who makes the schedule
Its no secret teams that NBA/ESPN deem 'must haves' in the playoffs have favorable home heavy...cupcake heavy schedules to start the season. See Cavs, Lakers, Celts to name a few.
It is what it is. It has to even out...we just have to be prepared to take advantage when it does.

The computer generates the schedule based on parameters given to it by a human. Thats much different from saying the computer comes up with a schedule or makes it.

Yes, like how the Lakers always get to play on Christmas.

... and the Rockets always make a run in the latter part of the season. Same it has always been for the past who knows how many years.

Well... then we should ask the computer!

Re: Seriously who makes the schedule
I disagree with people that say it would all even out. Technically, you're right, but what about confidence? If we were 9 games below .500 and hit the so-called "easy stretch," our play would be totally different than if we were 18 games above .500. If the Cavs, lakers played as many back to backs like us, they'd have similar injury problems like we do. The league has it out for us, whether you like it or not. They sucking on the balls of the Lebron and Kobe, evident by the ref'ing during that cav game in Cleveland. They called some sissy fouls to take yao out of the game and make they're "savior" Lebron win the game. Stern has some sick idea of trying to make the next Jordan and bringing back the "wonder years" of the NBA. There was an ESPN article with Mike Jordan, where he said the same thing. Stern needs to stop trying to find a "Jordan" and let the league be, instead of rigging games and schedules all the damn time. Maybe then people will love the game for itself and not some WWE bylines and drama/rivalries.

If we are really that good this stretch should make us tougher and more battle tested.

We came into the season injured, picking up only the Ron Artest injury before our schedule became laden with back-to-backs.

The dude is a sick Zionist bastard, simple as that. At all those international conferences he's always brown-nosing but when it comes to his policies when the actual season is under way it's a different story.

Who other than McGrady & Battier were really hurt? And if you never have days off how can you recover? Regardless....the schedule is almost as bad as our injuries, in the fact that it doesn't allow the players proper rest.

Re: Seriously who makes the schedule
Who other than them is hurt now? Artest, who I accounted for, and Dorsey, who isn't playing anyway. Is anyone missing? That's still 2|3/5 of our expected starting lineup

God... I guess every fan must do this. I get so annoyed when Celtics fans do this on Celtics board too.
But let me tell you something. The Rockets are one of the "must haves." ESPN and NBA stand to make a ton of money if the Rockets actually got somewhere, but they keep choking and losing to inferior teams. Think about it. There is a tremendous amount of interest in China, not to mention that Houston is the 4th largest market in the country, and it's in ESPN and NBA's best interest to have the Rockets among the elites.
You got one thing right though. It is what it is and they all even out. If you played a lot of games in the first half of the season, you'll have a lot of day offs in the 2nd half, which if you are a team with playoff aspirations, should be beneficial to you.
