Artest and Tmac can't play together. At this point, I dont think we can afford to pay Artest the 10 million per year extension that he wants. He'll probably just walk this offseason leaving us with no compensation. So i propose that we get some value before its too late.

Heres one idea:
Artest, Head for Outlaw, Channing Frye, first round pick

Have some patients, this guy just barely got healthy again, I can't believe that you think he's a major issue right now. T-Mac, Head, Raf, lack of a TRUE BACK UP CENTER is what's killing this team. - I doubt Portland takes that trade.

maybe an extremely crazy idea from the numbers POV (I've no idea about NBA financials), but what about this?

Incoming Players
Luol Deng
6-9 SF from Duke
14.3 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.9 apg in 34.3 minutes
Aaron Gray
7-1 C from Pittsburgh
4.0 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.0 apg in 14.5 minutes
Andres Nocioni
6-7 SF from Argentina (Foreign)
10.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.3 apg in 24.7 minutes
Kirk Hinrich
6-3 PG from Kansas
8.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 4.5 apg in 26.8 minutes

Outgoing Players
Aaron Brooks
5-11 PG from Oregon
9.8 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.6 apg in 22.6 minutes
Ron Artest
6-7 SF from St. John's
15.4 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.8 apg in 34.2 minutes
Tracy McGrady
6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS)
15.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 5.0 apg in 33.9 minutes

you'd need to give up on T-Mac, but get a decent PG in Hinrich, a big heavy C in Gray, an amazing defender who scores in Nocioni and a great slasher in Deng.

I think a team of Hinrich/Alston, Von Wafer, Deng/Nocioni, Scola and Yao/Gray can make some serious damage. Plus, Hinrich can (and plays) PG and Nocioni can play PF (personally I think Nocioni-Scola-Yao together would be lethal). Alternatively, you could add Ben Gordon instead of Deng, but there are some restrictions so I don't know if that would work

Whether that's functionally a good trade or not, the length of all three contracts is way too long. Teams never trade that many good players in one slash either. Might not be bad on NBA Live.

A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor
