Is lebron staying in Cleveland or going to NY? No way he's coming here.

3-year contract of $12m, that's roughly $4m per year for an unproven talent. That's more money than Scola is making this season and almost the same amount as a 1st-overall-pick draftee would make today.

I doubt the rumor is true. It makes little sense to me.

If it takes 6 months to 1 year to recover, and it translates to 1 year to 18 months for TMac to recover...

Does TMac not playing in any games next year mean that insurance will cover his salary? Or does it mean that his salary doesn't count toward the luxury tax and open it up to get another player?

Exactly why I said Wade. He would probably come here if the money is right.

If the Rockets can prove he'll be out for the season next year they'll get an exemption. I can't remember how much it is. It may be half of what he makes. So about 11 million.

JugoPlastika,
Nice find. Did a quick search and it looks like he's having a spectacular season. In an interview,he stated if his shot isn't falling he tries to make up for it on D,by rebounding, etc. Is he a decent defensive player,or is he strictly an offensive star?
One thing the Rockets have in trying to recruit him is success Coach Adelman has had w/previous European players-Peja,Sabonis,Vlade.

T-Mac United,
The Rockets upgraded their European Scouting Dept by hiring one of the most respected European judges of talent. So they should have a fairly decent idea of the player's talent level.
They are facing a potential hole at SG and getting a player who is averaging 20pts in 27 minutes looks like a good fit.(And he's scoring more per minute than the rest of his contemporaries by one of the largest margins in EuroLeague history.) I imagine the Rockets see him as their back-up SG who could step up and start if needed.
As for the offer-I wouldn't be suprised if the third yr wasn't guaranteed. The Rox have to offer him enough to leave a very comfortable situation. And the $4mil/yr isn't out of line w/what other wings got last yr-Pietrus($5.3mil),Posey($5.8mil),Mason($3.5mil) and Portlands wings Outlaw($4mil) and Webster($4.4mil next yr).
Assuming it's MLE money, that still leaves @ $1.5mil(assuming the cap shrinks some $3mil).

What this does show is Morey is playing a deep game, staying several moves ahead and keeping his options open. Just what we'd want a good GM to do.

Hmm, is that so?

I'll be honest, I have no knowledge about the Euroleague let alone the ability to name 5 non-U.S. players that are currently in that league (well except for the Great Greek Mac).

I'm not opposed to adding foreign talents to the roster, but I do believe our management needs to take precautionary steps since some players do fail in the NBA. I don't know how good Rakocevic is, but upon glancing through his wiki resume I wasn't as impressed in comparison to what I've heard and observed from Luis Scola. I also realized that Rakocevic didn't fare well as a Timberwolf in '02 - '03.

I would also argue that our SG/SF rotation is pretty decent with Battier, Artest (according to Max we have his Bird rights), and Wafer. In this coming off-season, I would presume that Morey will exercise that Bird rights on Artest and give Wafer a good chunk of that MLE.

According to your knowledge is Rakocevic better than Luis or the future 1st overall pick? How much is he's making this season?

T-Mac United,
My knowledge is limited to a very quick Google search last night. :)
IMHO,he wouldn't be worth a late pick in a deep draft,in a weak draft why not? Comparing gds to bigs is hard, but Scola was the anchor of the Argentines two summers ago and really put up some nice numbers in the Olympics,so I'd have to say Scola is better. One thing, their time at Tau may have overlapped,so Scola could give the Rockets an insight into him.(And it could all be his agent playing the US card to get a better deal from the Spanish club.)

I think we'll have to disagree on Ron. I believe he's gone when the season is over.
Wafer, while a nice find, has been way too inconsistant w/his offense to count on as a significant piece just yet.(Tho there's still time for that to change.)
