I can't handle the referees when playing AT Utah.

- Deron Williams gets fouled on a pass off, Brewer makes the bucket, and then Brewer goes to the FT line +1...wtf?

- Artest, Scola, and Hayes are getting thrown all over the place yet somehow manage to snag every offensive rebound and then Hayes finally scores. How was there no foul call before that?

- Korver slides over into Von Wafer yet they call a charge.

I'm gonna stop before I remember every terrible call of the game, but it blows my mind. It's amazing how both teams played equally physical, yet Utah went to the line 17 times in the 2nd half and we only get 6 FT attempts. Lowry was pathetic tonight, I think Rick should've stayed with Brooks...Lowry got outplayed by Brevin freakin Knight. I won't hold this against Lowry as I'm sure he's not used to the Houston-Utah rivalry, but he put us in deficits in the 2nd and 4th quarter that were ultimately insurmountable. I mean, in no way can you afford to go down double digits on the road against Utah when playing a game of playoff caliber. I would blame Ron for going 5-22, but he got hammered every time he drove to the hoop and what does he have to show for it? That's right, 0 FT attempts...0! And what the hell was Rick thinking trying to speed the tempo up against Utah? If we want to play a fastbreaking game against the Jazz, then we will get beat damn near every time unless Wafer and Lowry make their layups and get some calls. Utah outran the Baron Davis-lead Warriors; we can't expect to win that battle with Yao on the floor. We also were sorely missing Carl tonight; I think he would have given us energy off the bench and someone who actually felt like finishing strong at the rim tonight.

And after all these years I think it's evident that Yao is not a very smart basketball player. Why in the hell was Yao shooting turnaround jumpers over his defender tonight? I'm a proponent of Yao dribbling less and shooting more, but not freakin turnaround jumpers! If he wants to shoot over his man he needs to be faced up. Earth to Yao...YOU ARE NOT HAKEEM OLAJUWON, so stop trying to play like it.

I still see no way for any team to win a game on the road when the referees are calling the game the way they did tonight. We were lucky enough to get away with 3 travels that should've been called, but when you're only sending one team to the FT line when both teams are being equally aggressive it's just damn near impossible to close things out.

I have never seen so many missed layups, open jumpers, and overall dumb headed play. Stupid turnovers, passes, defensive lapses and anything negative.

This game was epitomized in the first 4 minutes of the 4th where Lowry, Brooks and Von Wafer went 1 on 4 a million trips in a row for missed layups and turnovers.

Battier, and Scola played well.

Yao and Ron played like ****. Especially Ron, he was just bad in every facet.

Just like every other Ron Artest game :)

Artest is turning into another Tmac... high volume shooter with alot of under 40% shooting games...

I can't believe some of you are actually blaming the refs for this loss. Did you not see the Yao travel where he took 4 steps while switching his pivot foot that wasn't called? Or were the goggles on? I'm not saying there weren't missed calls but they were missed both ways. This game imo was reffed very evenly.

I just see it as a bad matchup like Orlando vs Pistons.

However in the playoffs we always took it to 6-7 games, so it's not like we laydown.
We just need to play smarter and play our game. Today we played ISO, Scola was barely involved on offense. Yao really didn't have a lot of touches of his FGA 2-3 our offensive rebounds. He went to the line 1 time, he should of went in at least 2-3 times.

We just suck against the Jazz, I rather play lakers, celtics or Cleveland before playing the Jazz. However I am not bummed out we won 2 home games and they won 2 home games. No biggie.

LOL Artest has been that type of player his whole career man. Its just something that we gotta deal with b/c he will have his moments that'll help us pick up big wins like against the Spurs and Hornets. He'll also have his moments that contribute to us losing big games like against the Lakers and tonight.

You are a Jazz fan...your opinion holds no water. What are you in 5th grade. How are you gonna think that your opinion on the officials was worth sharing on the Rockets board....GTFO.

bigbreakfast wrote:I don't blame this loss on Yao at all... he barely got the ball in the 4th qquarter.... artest ISO/TOed and lowry and wafer "fastbreaked" the game away... I don't know how you can blame yao on this one, his defense and rebounding were solid until he was just clearly drained from running a pace he shouldn't be in. I blame adelman too, he should've yanked lowry/wafer immediately after their "fastbreaks." and he needs to keep artest in check, half of his ISOs end up in TOs

yeah but this happens like too many times through out the year....9 more games to the playoffs we need to get it right... and now....

After reading your comment it's obviously a lot more objective than yours. I was actually enjoying the comments when I first started reading. Most the fans were being very objective about the game. Then I read yours and there's always going to be one homer. Even one of your own fellow Rocket fans replied to your post and said we have to stop blaming the refs. That's got to tell you something.

K we've all vented, so before this gets out of hand let's shut it down and just focus on our next opponent. I have too much studying to do to sit up and police the boards tonight.
