King Roosk,
I imagine the Rockets are going to give him a long look over the summer to see if he can provide some scoring off the bench, esp at the SF spot. One problem the Rockets have had is they are not the most athletic team around. Morey seems to recognize this and Wafer,Lowry and now White are all pretty athletic players as AznkillabeezZz noted.
Plus he's prob signed to a very "cheap" contract, which the Rockets need to fill roster while staying under next yr's lower Lux Tax.
While I don't think it's a straw in the wind on McGrady,I do believe the Rockets won't have both McGrady and Artest back next yr.
We know Morey's computers have a love affair w/McGrady,and Les seems to really like McGrady. I don't believe this yr's soap opera has killed the relationship, hurt it definitely, but not ruined it.
I still can't get past the Rockets trying to trade away Artest when they couldn't be sure McGrady would be able to play any better than he had this yr.
We know the team was going to look radically different in 2010. I wonder if the Alston trade means the process is going to be accelerated. I wouldn't be shocked to see some players traded that would come as suprise to Rocket fans.
And hindsight is 20-20,but if the team had used the draft picks they traded away for Artest the future would sure look more interesting. The 09 to Denver and draft Courtney Lee and keep Batum.(And would GS after losing Davis have wanted Alston or Jackson?) I watch alot of Orlando and Portland on League Pass and those two players are pretty darn good-and both would fit Adelman's system perfectly. Oh well.
