Morey also talked about this on SR610, a couple of years ago, him and a group of other B-Ball junkies (including guys like Mark Cuban), have gotten together to create different kinds of statistics, and using those statistics to build a championship caliber team. Great article though, Morey has done a fantastic job of providing the players, and he's using his formula on the current Rockets, hoping for them to one day win a championship. He's very high on McGrady through his statistics--well it seems that way, because of T-Mac's all around game, on SR610 he even talked about something called "Mega Assists", those are assists that you get by helping a player create their own shot, but getting to the line, scoring a bucket (where the player wouldn't get an assist for), or eventually finding the open man. The stats aren't open to the public right now, but they hope for them to be one day, and many call the Rockets kind of the "test" for these special "statistics".
