Iverson to the Rockets?
Hear me out.
The Rockets need a point guard, why not sign Iverson in the offseason. He will get lots of minutes, so he won't pout, ya he hit his peak in 2001, but i'm sure he can help out somewhat.
Who knows if Mcgrady will be ready by next season anyway, so we can replace him with Iverson and when t-mac gets back, this team would look scary.
Yao
Scola
Battier
Mcgrady
Iverson
Artest, assuming he signs, coming off the bench. Who the hell are you going to go after, Yao double team, Iverson drives it in, Mcgrady double teamed?, Pass it out to A.I or Yao.
It will be a low risk high reward kind of thing if it works out. Just sign him for the mid level, no way he would get more than that anyway.
Get it done Morey.

Re: Iverson to the Rockets?
I do not want Iverson starting.. I think we should first try Bibby. Iverson isn't a PG, and we already talk about our PG's taking too many shots. If Iverson was willing to come off the bench, or if we could get a better PG, then I wouldn't mind him starting at the 2. But we need a taller more defensive minded pass first PG. And if T-Mac is still here, he can come off the bench until he proves he is able to start.

We need a PG and your answer is Iverson? We are better off starting Lowry instead.

iverson, mcgrady -wont be willing to come off the bench.. fool has too much ego. and regarding bibby, fool cant even play defense against a smaller guard or any guard. rockets should just work on developing lowry. i believe he has the potential to be great if he wasnt the 5th option in offense

The best fit for him is Charlotte. I think he knows that. He will only go where he can fit...Houston is not one of those places.

It's never a low risk when you are putting Iverson into your hopes of winning a championship...

i thought Iverson said he rather retire than come off the bench?
anyway, no thanks to iverson. Yao needs more shots - Iverson takes them away from him.

Iverson is what they call a "volume shooter." He isn't effective shooting less than 20 times a game, and he is seldom efficient.
He is the worst possible person to play point for us.

Re: Iverson to the Rockets?
I dont know about him playing PG for us but I wouldn't mind having him here for the right price(MLE). I dont think he's finished as a player, but I dont know if he'll fit the offence and sign for that cheap. But who knows with the future of the league's cap. He may beleive he has a chance at a ring with us.

Re: Iverson to the Rockets?
My god - absolutely not! If there is a worse kind of player for this team I don't know who it is. The guy is selfish, he needs to jack the ball up constantly to get his points (which kills the rest of our offense) and he's a huge distraction. I don't see a guy like Artest getting along with Iverson on the court very well, and I would much rather still have Artest than bring in the wrong answer.
As for McGrady - isn't it pretty safe to assume that he won't be a factor as a player at all? We're talking a year recovery time for a player younger than him. Add in the fact that you have serious questions about his committment to recovery and I think that it is safe to say that he won't be a contributing member of this team next season.

Re: Iverson to the Rockets?
Iverson for this team is worse than McGrady was THIS season.
McGrady has a chance to be back about the time of the Allstar game, depending on his rehab. It might be a little longer than that, but I believe he will be back trying to get a contract.

The only way this would happen is if you locked Daryl Morey in a room with Dumars and Dumars threatened to rape Morey without any lube.

No need to go after anyone, you'll have a team with 2 players shooting 20-100 FG (AI and T-Mac) who will be trying to keep the ball off each other. Of course, yo may add Artest to the mix and you'll have 15-100 FG. It's a dream come true... for any team facing Rockets

Re: Iverson to the Rockets?
He is still a borderline allstar if you ask me, but his style just not fitting our team. He would be much better in teams like Clippers, Toronto Raptors......
