I think Yao has to do what Shaq would do and push off on his defender a he is being lobbed the ball...

chances are he will get nailed with a push off foul... more often than not... but he should get enough points to not make him useless on the offensive end...

for those guys complaining that it take like 10-15 seconds to get the big stiff the ball...

HELLO!!! when you have a 7'6 lumbering oaf.... you should be taking 20 seconds... then maybe he will shoot it instead of pass it back out...

low scoring ball control offense is what you need... not a fast paced push the ball up the court... type plays...

Fine, Yao pushes off 6 times and fouls out the game in the first 2 minutes of the game. Good tactic.

dont get me wrong i love the big stiff...

but the problem is if he dosent get the ball... he becomes a 7'6 decoy... and thats something im not happy with...

and lets pray on defense... they dont start giving Yao those ticky tacky fouls... they more often than not give him... especially on those drives by Roy....

Pretty much this. If you front w/ backside help and hard double on catch you're not going put up much numbers but it opens it up for a lot of people. Driving lanes are open, offensive rebounds become possible and they were leaving people wide open like, Scola open at the FT line, all day (he just didn't hit them in gm 2).

I however don't think they are going defend Yao like that the whole game but we'll see. That said, Yao does need to have a little more fight in him. He didn't really seem into it last night. And at the same time even if they do front Yao that doesn't mean you ignore him the rest of the game. There were a couple of times Yao flashed middle where he have gotten an easy score.

well for starters BBall players seem to have a low IQ. kinda like your southerners in the USA

I have lived alll over the USA... and found that to be so....

best thing for the big stiff to do is to play for a team in the north.... not a RED state but a BLUE state like Califonia. and refuse to sign with Houston...

I mean if Seattle my team back then.... didnt lose 2 years in a row to the 8th seed... Houston would have never won a title,

and dont forget about his Airness retired for those 2 years

stole this from clutchfans poster.

thought it was kinda interesting.... back in the day when the type of defense they use today, was still illegal.

Blanketing Olajuwon with two and three defenders...

Olajuwon, 33 years old, was held to 6 points in 34 lackluster minutes by a defense that swarmed him in the post...

"You think about it," Johnson said. "We've got three centers against him. The Dream is good at what he does. We can't stop him completely, but we can slow him down."...

"They're determined to get the ball out of my hands," said Olajuwon, who took only nine shots. "So we have to adjust our system. They're coming at me even before the ball is thrown to the low post."...
