Time to give Rick and his crew some credit for the defense..

When talking about the Rockets "defense", it seems that everyone considers we've kept our defensive composure over the years because of JVG. I agree JVG was a great defensive coach, but once Rick took over, there have only been 3 players that are on this team and the previous from the JVG era: Shane Battier, Yao Ming, and Chuck Hayes. Now in the past 2 years, the Rockets have had a defensive rating of the following:

2008: 2nd
2009: 4th

It's really time to give Rick and his staff credit, because when you replace every player except 3 and still hold the same striking defensive composure, then Rick's staff has done a great job. Adelman had a background of cocaching teams that wern't "good defensive", if at best average, but the past 2 years, his staff has done a wonderful job.

I believe the defense scheme came from Adelman's assistant coach Turner. Good stuff indeed. Major Props to them.

maybe Morey has a bit to do with it also? I mean, that printout of Kobe's shots and percentages from spots on the court seems like a creation from a MIT superbrain.
