Here is the bottom line about Tmac:

He has superior talent and has improved his court vision and free throw shooting(recently). To say he doesnt have a good work ethic i must disagree. Maybe not as good as some of the young stars or kobe bryant.

But i have never heard a coach question his work ethic, after being the scoring champ and then having tons of back spasms you think his back gave out because of his work ethic please.

The guy is just injury prone, Gerald Wallace is one of the most intense players in the league but gets injured all the time and it has nothing to do with his work ethic the guy is a horse. The fact is mcgrady is injury prone

I also think he is a bit weak mentally due to the media criticizing him and his constant injuries. If your a player and you work hard in the off season after recovering from an injury its very mentally draining to get injured again and to have to watch your team play in the playoffs.

Finally your comment about not being a competitor i completely disagree with. It was just last year that mcgrady required 2 surgeries and threw houston on his back to complete a 20+ game wins treak and he put up 40 10 and 5 in the final game of the season with those injuries.

You also must forget the year Mcgrady said he would not speak to anyone and turned off all his phones for the playoffs and how badly he wanted to win, the no cell phone rule is usually something the coach asks for. He also had a playoff game where he had 16 assists i believe so i really think he wants to win hes just had some bad luck, horrible injuries, and mental problems because of the first two.

However i do not think mcgrady can get back to form, has nothing to do with his work ethic as he came into this season improving his free throw percentage by liek 15%. The type of surgery he is having makes you never become the player you once were and he will have to use intelligence to become a different type of player, still possibly an all star though.

But you never know

The problem with mcgrady has never been his training to me. he usually alwyas talks about how he busted his butt in the summer and is in great shape. i truly believe he works out hard in the off season. The problem is he likes basketball.....but he doesnt love it. Wade, Garnett, LeBron, Kobe, etc. play harder in some preseason games than T-Mac has in some playoff games. T-Mac just isnt going to bring it every second, and that hurts his team. i remmeber his first season in houston, he almost brought it every game. at some point in the game the ref would make a bad call, or something wouldnt go his way, and he would make that t-mac mean face like he was ready to tear up the world. that hunger is gone. i havent seen t-mac look mad or have fun in 3-4 years.
