NY, Houston, Chi Trade

Post#1 » by btrue » Tue Dec 8, 2009 1:21 pm

Trade ID 5315832, NY sends Catino Mobley, & Darko to Houston. They also send Wilson Chandler, & Nate Robinson to Chicago
Houston sends T-Mac to NY
Chicago sends Tyrus Thomas to Houston. They also send Jenarro Pargo, & Aaron Gray to NY.
This trade cannot happen until after DEC. 22 after Trade Restrictions are lifted from Robinson, Pargo, & Gray.

Why does Houston want T.Thomas (a PF) when they have Scola and Landry doing an excellent job covering the PF position? PF is a position of strength the rockets. This acquisition does not make Rockets better and they have to give up Tmac and destroy their future cap flexibility?

Landry is doing so well (9 games out of 20 games scoring 20pts or more as a reserve) that he has to be considered for the sixth man award.

yeah, no need for Tyrus Thomas here at all. This trade really doesn't appeal to the Rockets unless it is just to break McGrady's big expiring deal into three smaller expirings. The only problem there is that I don't think that any of those three would be that much easier to trade, so this would be a lateral move by the rockets on that front.

oh, and we can't take back two more players than we send out (and no, that isn't an invitation to throw another Rocket into this)

Like everyone here said, Carl Landry is better than Tyrus Thomas.

I think we need a drinking game for bad T-Mac trades in general not just to New York

Hey man - just offer some suggestions in the thread and we'll add it to the rules! We shouldn't let the Knicks fans have all of the fun! :)

I am thinking that Chicago trades involving Tyrus Thomas as the centerpiece deserve a drink each - a shot followed by a drink if it involves shipping out Scola or Landry for him!

Woohoo!!! Alcohol poisoning, ho!!!!
