A Game Full of Fish
There wasn't a thing about the Cavs/Celts game last night that struck me as normal. LeBron is not a perimeter jump shooter, which was the ONLY thing he did last night. He's not normally nervous. He doesn't normally pass EVERY possession and never drive. I had the same look on my face as the Cavs fans last night, even though (while I've been expecting the Cavs to) I don't really care who wins.
I can't figure out what happened but
- Money/threats/bets were involved
- LeBron is really injured
- LeBron wants to lose the series so he doesn't completely look like an ass if he jumps ship to NY
He had exactly 2 of 14 shots last night that weren't awkward-looking jumpers en route to a 3-14 shooting night when he's been throwing in 70% for the playoffs. I've seen plenty of games that looked like a ref might've thrown them, but this is the first time I can remember one that looked like it was thrown by a player.
Thoughts?

This has a lot of people confused, but I think Lebron has the ability to 'snap out of it', and may pour 40+ on the C's to dispel any notion of apathy or tanking. One thing is for sure- it's getting folks from teams looking toward free agency a bit excited I guess.

I loved this quote from him:
Douche. I've never liked him to begin with, and amazingly he continues to give me justification for it.
"I spoil a lot of people with my play," James said in one of the few borderline candid comments he made in his postgame interview. "When you have a bad game here or there, you've had three bad games in a seven-year career, then it's easy to point that out. So you got to be better."
Douche. I've never liked him to begin with, and amazingly he continues to give me justification for it.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Have a medical professional who isn't close to LeBron testify that LeBron is injured. Otherwise, I don't believe any of his excuses.

i remember one play where lebron got hit in the eye and lost the ball, no foul call, lebron just laying on the court covering his eye, ball position go against cleveland
replay show lebron didn't get hit, it was close but didn't touch him at all, he just lost control of the ball and a turnoever
lebron fake it

Simply put. LeBron is over rated. I don't believe for one second that he's injured. Throwing the game intentionally so he can leave the Cavs doesn't make sense either since that would only hurt his legacy.

Even if he's somewhat injured, what's the point of playing hard this season for Lebron. Deep down he knows he can't win it all this season. After seeing the Magic sweep twice, I'm sure he's realized that it's time to pack it in for the season. Lebron grows up in the age where if it aint easy, why try? If you can sit around and still get "paid" why work? I think professional sports has become a "ticket" to getting paid, being famous, etc. and there aren't many players left who play it b/c they enjoy it. Whether he wins this season or loses, somebody will pay him a max contract. Would you play hard or would you just try to get through the season? Don't lie to yourself....

I hope Lebron leaves. (not to New York)
I'd like him on the Brooklyn Nets

The elbow thing I'm highly suspicious of. He never winces when shooting, has no hitch that indicates he's either in pain or there's a problem. His FT form is near perfect. Considering how he puts on an Oscar-worthy performance every time someone dares to hit him on the head and esp how he milked his cramps last yr against Orlando,if he was really hurting astronomers on other planets would be able to see his grimaces of pain and he'd be cradling his elbow everytime someone came near him.
Most likely he's made his decision to leave and has mentally checked out.
Personally,I think he's been partying just a bit too hard and left his legs and desire in a nightclub somewhere.

I don't think he's faking it. He doesn't have anything to gain by purposely acting injured. He can leave if he wins or loses. Doesn't make a difference. I think he's trying to win, but give credit to Boston and his injury.
Boston has 3-4 players that can step up during games. Although the big 3 are inconsistent, like Pierce, they still can produce a threat. And Rondo is just playing his best. Cleveland has Lebron, and he's not even fully fit. Mo williams only sometimes steps up. Antawn jamison is one unorthodox player and he hasn't had the best of series. Jamison is like the taller version of shawn marion, with weird shots that sometimes go in, and when it doesn't hes inefficient. Shaq is a shadow of his former self, but played better than i expected. Anthony parker is an ok role player, but rondo is just running laps around him last game. Cleveland has players that can potentially play well but they haven't during the losses.

Karl Malone Jr.
Also I'd rather have Candace than Anthony (and am disappointed that I once suggested getting him from Toronto) and Shaq wouldn't win a footrace with Mount Everest anymore.
That is all.
