Where does our overall perimeter combo rank?

This is saying Lowry resigns, offensively we have two of the most effective offensive scorers (TS%) in the entire game, both Martin and Brooks have an widely ranging offensive arsenal, but that said where does it rank overall, this is taking into account our perimeter defensive combo with Battier, Ariza, and Lowry, where does it rank overall? If healthy is this the best perimeter combo in the game? it provides a little bit of everything from offense, defense, to even rebounding.

Somewhere in the top five, probably top 2

Brooks / Lowry
Martin / Budinger
Ariza / Battier

is deep and pretty well rounded.

Nash / Dragic
Richardson / Barbosa
Hill / Dudley

is more talented but not as well rounded

Rondo / Robinson
Allen / Allen
Pierce / Daniels

most talented, least depth

Ellis / Watson
Curry / Morrow
Maggette / Azub

is high talent, low output

Good question. Wish I had time to answer it. Remind me to bump in 2 weeks with an answer.

Meantime, Lars has a good early answer, just looks like it might be a bit incomplete.

(Pierce/Allen/Rondo probably won't be as good next year - Allen'll be approaching 36 at playoffs. Pierce will be 33. KG will be even less able to help cover the middle (will be 35 during playoffs)

Prior to looking, I thought Pierce was 30....

one of my concerns for this team is backcourt defense (defense overall actually). pg is ok, if lowry resigns. but w/ martin and brooks playing majority of 1/2 spots, their defense will be a huge liability. sure we got ariza/batt but then martin has to guard a bigger sf.

i like the idea of having a defensive sg who plays at least 15mpg, everygame, not spot minutes. i dont mind trading cbud to get that done.

Rockets can field a defensive perimeter squad in Lowry, Battier, Ariza...so I wouldnt worry about it very much.

99% of our defensive problems will be aleviated once we have Yao back. Still I wouldnt mind snagging a backup 2 with the MLE who can play some D, like a Delonte West or Josh Childress.

if the sg and pf position can have at least 18 minutes of defense, then the team is a contender. those defenders cant get buried on the bench in the playoffs, would make martin and scola play near 40mpg

also yao is notta sure thing, i think it'd take at least 2 months to get back to his 20/10 status

josh childress is making like 10 millions oversea there's noway he's coming back to the nba for mle

We just need to get a defensive minded backkup for Yao and I think we will be pretty set. As far as our perimeter combo is concerned, I think they are arguably the best offensively.
