David Anderson was the closest thing to a short-sighted move that Morey's done, and it was completely out of necessity. Starting last season, our options at C were: Chuck Hayes, Luis Scola.

It was likely either his best option for a backup C that wouldn't hinder us any more than necessary moving forward, or the best blend of that and available talent.

In spite of what Guy said, DA can play in the NBA, he's just not anything special. More than that, he remotely fit what we needed last year, and he might be better suited as a backup PF, which iirc was mentioned several times as his natural position last year.

For zapatas:
1. Yep, you can only win with second rounders, it's hard to lose with them unless you trade them all away all the time.
2. kam is scowling at you right now. I agree we made out like bandits though.
3. We gave up nothing for Ron, and lost nothing, unless anyone would rather have Bobby Jackson right now. I'm just glad we only had to trade a package of Doritos, anything more and I would say it was this one.
4. see above:
5. Rudy Gay for Battier, imo, was one of his best trades. I laughed like a schoolgirl when I saw Rudy's new contract. Nevermind that the Grizzlies went from a 55(ish) win playoff team to a 35(ish) win team with Battier leaving.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

Everything you said is what I said i agree on all points. I never expected DA to be a player that got a lot of minutes and his contract was small and like i said the last year is not gaurenteed. Never said the Ron move was bad since we gave nothing for a rental but it could be argued as such. . I have seen baseball teams give a lot for a rental of a player for only a half a season. No clue about this kam but i okay with the scowling. Once again the Battier move was done by Dawson and it was a win right now tpye move. The Batttier and Carl move has work out good for us and can turn out to be even better for us since Battier contract is an asset and all the assets we got from the Knicks: future picks, Jeffries expiring contract, Hill are all high thought of assets.

Most of us were expecting a capable banger who would be able to hold down the C position. We weren't expecting a shorter, older Bargnani.

jahlil okafor has some of the best post moves in the last 30 years and the dude can't even get on the floor

I am kind of lost on this. When the Rockets signed him for half of the MLE and all i heard was how good he was at spreading the floor. That he is not a down in the post type player. How often would you put banger and foreign player in the same sentence? People may have expected him to be a banger, 7 FT would do that to people. You know that old saying you can't teach size. Only thing I would say is that he should of been a better rebounder.

A "capable" banger. I wasn't expecting a sissy that would shy away from contact and take jumpshots all day.

I don't care if you're foreign or not. It wasn't like he couldn't understand English, he's Australian after all. When you're 6'11 245 you should be able to realize that you can do damage in the post.

Did not see capable in there. I agree with you on the size standpoint that he should have done some damage in the post. Maybe with Yao at the 5 and him in the 4 he could give us some of that Robet Horry effect. Be a decent passer into the post from the perimeter and a solid shot from 15-20 ft out but i doubt it.
