OT: What I hate about NBA Basketball

Post#1 » by kam_soluusar » Wed Aug 11, 2010 8:54 pm

As an international fan, we get bugger all in the way of NBA merchandise released in Australia. unless you are a Lakers or now a Miami fan. I refuse to pay the exorbinant amount for shipping that NBA.com charges, and to be honest, am finding it difficult to buy a Rockets Singlet, because we seem to trade players willy nilly. i was going to get a Landry singlet, he's gone. Andersen, gone as well. i have two McGrady,s and an Alston singlet hanging uselessly in my wardrobe. the only one I can wear with pride, is my Olajuwon throwback. Maybe I should just get a Rockets singlet with #9 and my last name on it!

Fans show loyalty, perhaps ballclubs should too. Would Rockets.com take my well worn singlets and give me a Battier singlet or a Drexler throwback for $10.00 probably not.

Does anyone else feel my pain?

Dude I hear ya.

I had to scrap every one of my Enron shirts back in 2002. Companies should have more brand loyalty than that!

I don't even know why you would ever get an Alston singlet in the first place ..

I'm guessing a singlet is a jersey?

LMAO @ The Enron joke. That was classic.

you take what you can get in Australia. The Alston jersey was popular, mainly because of And1. If only u could get a throwback tailor made, I'd get a 94 jersey with #21 and Jent on the back. (he played in Oz for a year for the team I supported here in Oz after we beat NY in 93-94)

BTW the Enron joke was completely lost on me. Not being American and all.

Enron was the name on the Astros ballpark but then broke federal laws and the business went belly up. They lost naming rights to the Astros stadium and it is now call Minute Maid Park. I would love to have a shirt with Enron field on it.

Needless to say, I didn't buy it.

As a fellow aussie I feel your pain mate. My Pacers stuff always costs a bomb because even when we were popular in the 90s it was hard to get even a reggie singlet. Only suggestion I can give is to get a group and do an order but be very careful what type of stuff you buy because (not sure if you know) but thier packing methods are ridiculous, they send random things in massive boxes and charge $30AU shipping on a pair of shorts.

Sorry, end rant, best way I think is to have a friend/family member bring stuff back from the US for you.
