Texans choked. What the hell was that last play about? 10 seconds left and no timeouts left and opted to get a lil closer for what still would have been a long FG? Stupid. You have two guys competing for the effin kicking job and this would have been a GREAT opportunity to throw Kris Brown out there.

Re: OT: 2010 NFL Thread
BIG HOUSTON TEXANS FAN RIGHT HERE BUDDY...
team looked amazing today in the preseason. We already know our passing game is top in the league lead by the best WR in the nfl Andre Johnson. This year they keep thing rolling, they look smoother and they have the weapons. They said it best, continuity is good for the team and this passing game has experience together.
The running game looked good. I haven't heard much from Arian Foster but they were suddenly hyping him up before the game and he showed some flashes in the carries he got. He looks like he can be a legit starting half back for houston. houston's running game was 30th in the league last season but we went 9-7 and Shaub threw for over 4,000 yards. If we actually have a solid running game, it will open up the passing game and this will be incredibly dangerous on offense. If we can be at least around 14th in the league in running, we will be a dangerous team. but we all know this league recently has been a 2 running back league meaning you need a duo to be successful on the ground. After a 1000 yard rookie season, Steve Slaton hit a HUGE sophomore slump which also included fumble problems... he showed some struggles today. Hopefully he will do better as a back up running back.
And don't let me forget the defense. The defense looked SHARP. The D-line looked solid, and of course our line backers are solid (even though we wont have cushing early in the season). The secondary to me was the question mark and our 2 safeties looked enthusiastic and solid out there. Our corners looked pretty solid out there, but i would need to see more of them to know. But overall our defense looked much better than last season. Hopefully they can stay consistent throughout the season.
If you can't already tell, im excited for the season to start... we have a really tough schedule, one of the toughest in the league and we are in the toughest division in football. I say, this is the season when the Texans go to the playoffs. and here's how i see it, if the texans can get to the playoffs in this division and with this schedule, we are legit and we can be dangerous.

Re: OT: 2010 NFL Thread
Here here sir! Texans all day!
Our first team was outstanding on offense and defense. We moved the ball at will running and passing, and the defense was smothering. Our line was opening some major holes for our backs. Foster came on the scene late last year and put a couple 100 yard games, so I was interested in seeing what he could do coming into this season. The rest of the backs all did pretty well. Even Tate had a nice run when he banged his knee on the ground. Not that I'm a doctor, but I think its just a bruised knee, he should be fine. I really wanted to see Holliday get in the open field, but he didn't get much of a chance though.
Over all, I loved what we showed today from our first team. I think we'll be very competitive this year. We'll more than likely come in 2nd in the division and grab one of the wild card spots. Man I'm so happy football is back. Now I can watch SportsCenter again!

Apparently Tate broke his ankle and will be out for the season. Not good. I guess we have to hope Slaton bounces back with a solid year and that Foster is as good as he's looked so far.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

That sucks to hear. Just brought this up on the Texans forum.
I was really putting a lot of my running game hopes in Tate. Dammit!

So should I renew the Fantasy Football league from previous seasons past? Last year was crushing, cruising in the regular season, then fail in the playoffs to finish 3rd, hah.

Geez what a horrible game tonight. You know is bad when undrafted Chase Daniels is craving up our 2nd unit defense.

Geez... 2 more preseason games to go! I'm glad the NFL got it right for next year by cutting the preseason in half and adding 2 more regular season games!!
