Just be grateful you didn't have anything to drink before that. Any trace of alcohol and you would have been screwed.

My friend got hit by a car while crossing the street on his bike. The car failed to stop for the stop sign and hit my friend. He flew off his bike and luckily broke his fall with his hands otherwise it would have been his head. His bike was totaled, the back wheel had come off and the frame was dented.

The car sped away and my friend was too injured to see the license plate. Said he blacked out.

That driver would have been in severe trouble but, fleeing the seen? Wow. He/she didn't even know if my friend was alright.

So unless you're speeding/drunk/etc., feel free to discreetly turn a blind eye the instant that Jazz fan takes the first foot off that curb. (Triple points if you flop when getting out of the car "to render aid".)

First thing that came to my mind:

Most modern Americans would probably have done what you did. Unfortunately that's why China's beating us and the rest of the world hates us.

Put it like this, let's say the kid looked fine but later ended up having a concussion or internal bleeding or something. Since you hit him, would you morally feel responsible if you had hit him for whatever reason and it turned out that he had gotten hurt? You should have at least gotten his name and number and checked up on him later. If that was your kid wouldn't you want the driver to take every precaution to take responsibility for hitting your kid even if everything looked okay?

As for whether the collision is your fault, it's impossible for us to know that since all we know is that your version of the story that you were going 30-35 and the kid jumped in front. I guess that would all depend on how good your insurance company's lawyer was and how good whatever ambulance chaser the black folks hired is. Honestly though if I had gotten the information from the kid I probably would have flipped the black guy who thinks he's the boss of the neighborhood the bird. Really I dont think it's necessary to call the cops and the paramedics when the kid is obviously okay as long as you guys exchange information (unless you yourself want the documentation so they dont try to use the accident as a lottery ticket later and manufacture some injuries)

You can blame lawyers for that one. Innocence and proof both fly out the window when you're being prosecuted. It's hard to have a coherent society when no one can trust anyone within the confines of the law. It doesn't even matter if he was at fault or not. All that matters is which lawyer is better and what's at stake.

At least we aren't as bad as Colombia.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

I'm pretty sure the reason China's beating us is because our roads make too much sense.

It's a little graphic but everyone seems to get up and walk around after so maybe it's okay to post inline?

So you're saying i'm normal? Whew..... good to hear.

But in all seriousness, the kid bolted before i had the chance to do anything. Like i said after my car made contact with his bike, i stopped and asked him if he was ok a couple times. Immediately after saying yes he got on his bike and fled the scene. He left so quickly, you'll think he was Lance Armstrong. I mean he was obviously frightened and didn't want to get into further trouble.(his mother said this wasn't the first time something like this happened) I guess i could've left my car in the middle of the road and try to chase him down or something....

As for whether the collision is your fault, it's impossible for us to know that since all we know is that your version of the story that you were going 30-35 and the kid jumped in front. There is some truth to that. I mean i only presented my side of the story. I could be making all sorts of embellishment to it. Afterall its only human nature to think you're right and they're wrong. For all you know i could've been going 100mph, high as a kite and this poor little innocent kid was the victim of my drunken rampage. But i think the fact that a neutral 3rd party(black guy who thinks he's the boss) and the victim of the accident(boy) didn't object to my side of the story bolds well for me. Also the fact the mother admitted that the boy had a history of recklessness when crossing the road helped.

The black guy was pissed at me for the same reason as you. I can't be mad at him because he's just trying to do what's right. Basically he said the same thing that you said...... only with a bunch of *****ing and **** and *****hole.

You're absolutely right about the manufacture injury concern. I was the one who called the cops, the ambulance and the avengers. (well i didn't call the ambulance but they came anyway) I called the cops mainly because i wanted to take care of everything at that moment.

After watching that, and seeing how ridiculous some of the accidents are, I'm wondering if some of that is staged. They'd have to be crazy to be willing to stage these types of accidents, because I'm sure there's a very real chance that people were injured. But for some of them, it's like they know they're going to collide, but neither party decides to put on their brakes, or at least swerve away.

I mean, how do you hit a person standing in the middle of the road at like, 5 miles an hour (the one at 2:00)? And shouldn't whoever is taping all of this, try to implement some measures to prevent these types of accidents? A real head scratcher.
