I didn't mean in total salary, I meant that you're asking to pay MIKE DUNLEAVY 10.5 million dollars while eliminating almost any chance of getting under the cap to do so.

Anyway, do you REALLY want TWO Dunleavy Jr's and TWO Aaron Brooks here? The confusion would be unbearable. Space time fabric ripping apart and such. Kittens melting aimlessly in the streets...

Jordan Hill will probably used in a deal to consolidate for an upgrade.

Carmelo + Dunleavy = $27,711,227
Martin + Shane + JJ + Hill = $28,007,425

I don't see the big problem.

If you trade the 2012 pick the rights to swap with NY go with it. We didn't get two 2012 picks if that was what you're thinking. We also traded Andersen a while ago...

Do you honestly think this is a good deal for Ind? They're basically left with nothing.

Indiana gets the 2nd best player in the trade with Kevin Martin. That's not nothing.

I meant Antonio Anderson not David Andersen at SF.

We have the option to swap with NY in 2011 not 2012. We get NY's 2012 outright without the swap.

If we get Melo there is no chance of getting under the cap. Dunleavy is an expiring contract just like Battier and Jeffries.

You're right on the picks. My mistake.

Kevin Martin isn't going to make up for the depth and young talent that they gave away in George, Dunleavy, and etc. It's also pretty clear that the Pacers don't improve long-term. Also what would happen if Granger or Martin gets injured? Who's going to fill in those roles? Both are injury-prone and have huge contracts. You don't give away depth, a decent expiring, young talent, and a pick for Kevin Martin after all. Hell if I was Indy I'd expect Melo for that package.

Bigger problem is why does Hou deal w/Indy at all?
Martin,Hill,2 of Houston's 4 First over next 3 yrs(w/non-guaranteed Alexander Johnson for salary matching) is more than anyone else can offer Denver.

As to orig question, would love to know who would say no to a Hill for Paul George trade-Houston or Indiana?
