I think Adelman will use a 9-10 men rotation, while the minutes (and rotations) will largely differ due matchups and who's playing well.

Something like this:

Yao 24 Miller 16 Hill/Hayes/Miller (matchups) 8
Scola 34 Hayes/Hill (matchups) 14
Battier 26 Budinger 22
Martin 30 Lee 12 Lowry 6
Brooks 32 Lowry 16

This is about what I thought. But somehow, someway i think Lee will get more than 12 minutes.

Yeah I think so too. Not sure how Adelman will do it, but I guess he'll find a way.

I think we'll also see Lee playing/defending at the 1 against the bigger, more explosive quards a la Westbrook or Deron Williams in spot minutes. You'll get away with it if you put another decent ball handler (Lowry or Budinger) next to Lee. Lowry is good/strong enough to guard the likes of Sefolosha, Harden, CJ Miles, Raja Bell etc.

Lee Budinger/Lowry Battier vs. Westbrook Sefolosha/Harden Durant
Lee Martin Budinger vs. D.Williams CJ Miles/Raja Bell Kirilenko/Hayward

Orlando did the same thing in stretches once Jameer Nelson got injured in 2009. They played Lee at the 1, Pietrus at the 2 and Turkoglu at the 3. Worked quite well for them.

I think we'll also see some small ball against some of the stretch 4 teams (GSW, ORL, PHO), with Battier guarding the 4 man and Bud at the 3.

i think this trade is to cut cost

i see our backup SG is actually going to be Lowry
Adelman like Brooks+Lowry backcourt a lot

C - Yao (24), Miller (24)
PF - Scola (33), Hill/Patterson (15)
SF - Battier (30), Budinger (18)
SG - Martin (33), Lowry (15)
PG - Brooks (35), Lowry (13)

9 men rotation
Adelman don't like to use more than 10 players

i hope u forgot about lee

i did not forget about Lee
i just don't see how he can crack the rotation
unless you guy feel he can play SF (or opponent is playing 3 guards, not every team is Warriors)
make no sense to pay Lowry 5M/year to play less than 20 mpg

lmao, he wont be in the rotation? hahaha, sry but thats too funny, especially the bolded part. lmao. sure lowry is getting paid 6mil but doesnt mean he should play ALL THE BACKUP SG MINUTES, AT 6 FEET 0 INCHES. martin shouldnt play more than 30 unless he gets good at defense

how can u not play someone like lee? playoff experinece, finals experience, great defense and versatile, decent 3pt shot. i know he's not spectacular but with kevin martin playing the majority of the sg minutes, someone has to be able to guard the opposing sg. lee is much more fit for that role than lowry, and shane will guard the sfs.

if lee gets less than 15min i'd be surprised as hell. coach can adjust brooks or lowry's minutes according to the other team, and they'll play both guard spots sometimes but not every game, and dont need brooks 40mpg w/ a healthy yao and healthy rockets squad.

had to overpay lowry to keep him. the best backup pg. like how odom can start all 82 games for any team, lowry can do the same.

^ Good point (in the first paragraph). Brooks wasn't exactly otherworldly efficient last year in spite of averaging 20ppg.

I'd be happy if his role was reduced, outside of it lowering his trade value. Remember that he and Lowry played mostly equivalent minutes prior to last season.

Brooks should come off the bench ala Ginobli. We have enough offense in the starting lineup with Martin, Scola, & Yao. We should have our defensive distributor start with the scoring punch coming off the bench.

PG: Lowry, Brooks
SG: Martin, Lee
C: Yao, Miller, Hill
SF: Battier, Budinger
PF: Scola, Hayes, Patterson

IR: Taylor, Smith
