Would Houston (or any team really) join in a multi team deal just to make sure a player doesn't land in a certain city, or to try and move some talent out of their conference?
Do you only do trades to make your team better? Or do you play a chess match and trade some pieces that might make you the same, but others weaker?

X- I like how you copied my balding haircut pic and didn't give me credit for it. It looks hilarious on Charles Barkley..but the pic of mine is real, not fake.

So ur saying 2k ratings are far off? you think their multi-million dollar franchise don't use experts on their field? It still had to go through my strict approval and I saw 83 for Yao just about right. What does your expert analytical mind rate Yao then?!?..a 90 amongst Kobe, Pau Gasol, Durant, Lebron, Wade, Dwight Howard?, in china votes yes..but not in skills or durability.

It's a more accurate rating than what you would give I'm sure. No 90 rated player is limited to 24 minutes a game or has a injury rate of yao's nature. Just because you've got analyst under your ID doesn't make you a better analyst than 2k ratings.

i never said yao is a 90 rated player
i dont hate 2k, i prefer it over live. but they have their problems, at least they used to. i havent played 2k10, but heard you can still avg 20/10 with an average post player. the ratings from 2k9 and before were mos def not accurate.

Red96,
Because you can't trade consecutive Firsts and the Knicks don't have a 2012 First, the pick they really want is the 2012 First back. That way they could trade their 2011 First(either theirs or Rockets, whichever they end up with) AND their 2013 First. So whatever the combo of players might be,Denver would also get 2 Firsts.
Now nothing says Morey has to agree to trading back the Knicks pick. He can trade a 2012 First, having the option to swap/keep the better of the two. After all,all NY needs is a 2012 First.
But I think it's 50/50 Denver goes hurtling into a trainwreck by deluding themselves first by thinking they can keep Carmelo and second by overestimating what they think they can get. At the trade deadline they're going to panic because the teams looking to trade now will be setting up for lockout or already made deals. They're going to swallow whatever Knicks offer and like it.
Biggest WTF of the whole Carmelo saga is the Philly talks. It wasn't Iggy who was offered-it was Evan Turner!

I find it hard to overrated 14/11 in 28 mpg, but that's me.
Seriously? wonder why he avg 28 mins in a lottery team. Does that give you a hint? When the team is desperate for a win the guy doesn't start or manages to avg longer than 28 mins, even when he posts big numbers. One thing that tells you is he's ineffective enough for the coach to put him on the bench in a 16 win team?
Well its ok. You can blame the coach. But this year we'll see if he improves with what i assume starting gig and playing more minutes. And see if he can get more wins than 16 as him as a leader. But then again you can blame the team, like dlee fans blamed the knicks. Despite his superstar stats.
But i don't buy his sudden real gm fan love. The guy avg 25 min and 28 mins his last 2 seasons. I think he'll def get more minutes this season plus start, but predicting stats based on points per minute is silly, and innacurate. If thats the case, every supersub who scores alot or sparks the game in limited minutes will be a superstar given more minutes, NOT.
Either way I think he's a good player and smart bball IQ. But still raw in some aspects of his game. Just not the next big thing like everyone makes it sound here.

Rambis has said he's not sure who he will start.
No one here is saying to give up the farm for KL or that he's a superstar already. He could be a nice replacement down the line for Scola and with Utah getting Al Jefferson for practically nothing, it wouldn't hurt to see what the price tag on Love is.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Easy enough to flip that argument. "Exactly, the Wolves are a lottery team in part because they only played him 28 minutes." (granted, they didn't exactly have a ton of options, and he was injured a lot)

To me, he's got two issues - shooting percentage is low (he'd have shot 47+% without the 3's), and his defense sucks. He's probably not the next big thing, but he's also probably at Scola's level, give or take a bit.
Morey 2020.
