Von Wafer?

Post#1 » by Joseph17 » Wed Jan 5, 2011 11:04 am

I was just looking through some Rockets videos on youtube and I noticed Von Wafer in some of the videos. Is there a reason why the Rockets didn't re-sign him? He has an excellent shooting form (reminds me of Ray Allen's) and he seems to be really fast and athletic as well.

too much ego. i liked the guy but he had one "breakout" season where he averaged 10 points a game and he's suddenly too good for X amount of $

i don't know the exact figures (what wafer wanted and what houston was offering) but obviously nobody else in the NBA offered him a job so either he was in denial or his agent lied to him. either way that bonehead move was bad for his career, when he was in the middle of developing and making progress in his game.

PO'd Adelman,which was not smart.
Yao was hurt worse than originally thought so money budgeted for him went to David Andersen.
Tried to come back to team last yr but failed his physical.
Now trying to hang on in Boston.

Wafer is like j r smith, when he gets hot dude can put thirty on you, but his basketball iq is below average and he has an attitude. I still think he could help us but with the problems we have now he's the last type of player we need

It sucks that he has attitude problems because he seems like he's really talented and has a lot of potential.

Max pretty much covered the situation. I also remember him being completely taken out of the Lakers series because of Vujacic's defense.
