I believe Denver's center Mosgov is either a free agent or on his first contract. If the latter, maybe we can make a trade for him this summer. I really like this kid. He seems to have all the tools to be a legit center, if not already. After watching him play for several games including the game today against the Lakers, i think we should take a hard look at seeing if we can get him. I doubt Denver will trade Nene, so maybe we can go after Mosgov.

his contract runs til 2013. first things first we need a starting center. i wouldn't put too much consideration into mosgov, he has a lot of developing to do if he wants to be a starter in the nba. right now he looks like he can be a servicable big man off the bench

Smart, savy players like Ray Allen, Steve Nash, Steve Nash, Grant Hill, Reggie Miller, John Stockton etc. still do very well late in their careers. Scola is of the same mold and I can see him being pretty much the same guy when he's 35.

I'm definitely an optimist, and I would love to see Yao back playing with the Rockets. If he can give us 20 minutes a night, then we improve exponentially as a team. If he won't be healthy by next season, then we definitely need a reliable 7 footer to help protect the block down low. Although Chuck Hayes is listed as a "center", he often ends up guarding the opposing power forwards leaving Scola defending the other teams 7 footer.

We also could use an upgrade at SF. I love Chase in there, but I don't think he's a high quality starter at SF for the future. He's great to have off the bench for ~20 minutes a night, but I'm not sure how far this team would go with him putting in 36 mins+ per game starting. Maybe Terrence Williams improves to where he can play some consistent minutes at SF too? As of now, we're just going with a Budinger, Martin, Lee rotation which is a little bit thin.

Roster next season...

PG - Lowry/Dragic
SG - Martin/Lee
SF - Budinger/T.Williams/Draft Pick
PF - Scola/Patterson/Hill
C - Yao/Hayes/Miller

Talk about a deep front court rotation.

Scola's age is not the problem for me. It's his atrocious defense. Besides rebounding every other part of his game on defense is below average or straight garbage (besides KLove I can't think of a worse post defender).

forget Bruce Bowen or Shane Battier type of role player
especially they always just spot up on one corner on offense
you see how much better our offense got with Budinger in the lineup?
if we are keeping Adelman as coach
we need player that can play on both end
they don't necessary need to be very good at it (they would be superstar if they were)
but they can't be one dimension player

our 3 players on our team i wont trade
Lowry, Lee, and Patterson

btw Morey did try to trade Scola and Martin
but seem like no team want them
maybe New Jersey would like to have Scola if they don't get Derrick Williams

You mean Deron Williams? or Derrick Wiliams the draft pick? Utah has the Nets pick this year so they probably won't get Derrick.

Scola for Landry Fields? He hasn't been playing as well since Carmelo came to town so the Knicks might be open to moving him. Scola and a pick for Turiaf/Fields/Balkman.

Could a frountcourt of Melo-Scola-A'mare co-exist?
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

i thought the pick is #1 protected
just check
not protected
since new jersey offer scola a contract in the offseason
i think they may have some interest

that's too much to give up for bunches of garbage
landry fields just one of the player look good in d'antonio offense

amare doesn't want to play center
