Chase Budinger

Post#1 » by HINrichPolice » Fri May 27, 2011 11:03 pm

Bulls fan here.

Although I haven't seen him play too much, I've also liked Chase Budinger's game. He's a solid athlete with a good jumper. He can run off screen, catch and shoot.

What are Rockets fans' assessment on his game? What potential trade could be made involving him and the Bulls?

For better or worse he is currently our starting small forward, and we do not have a lot of depth at that position. Considering his very cheap contract it would be next to impossible to move him and get back something of comparable value (again, he's starting for us). If Budinger is moved he'd have to be part of another larger deal. His on-court value far outstrips his monetary value, which makes him very difficult to trade.

I'd say that the Bulls have no shot at him. His contract/value just won't allow it.

I would have to say, this is one of the most spot on shoot downs of a trade that I have seen in a while. and agree 100%

Unless you give up Noah or Asik, which I doubt. Not a chance in hell.

Would you say he's more a SF than a SG? Or can he go either way?

He doesn't have the footspeed to cover SG.

Ashton Korver is a better shooter but makes 5x what Bud makes.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Or going by his hair, Justin Korver.

He is a small forward. If you're looking for him to play primarily as a shooting guard then you're making a big mistake. He can be a streaky shooter with his outside shot disappearing for games at a time.

For a SG you want someone who can shoot their way out of a funk. Someone who has already forgotten that they took a shot the moment the ball leaves their hands. Chase isn't that guy. You can tell when his shooting woes are in his head. The way he gets out of it is to attack the basket, which he does well.

Chase as a SG would not be a good move.
