I'm sorry for starting a new thread for this, but I wanted everyone to see it. I was afraid it might get buried or ignored in another thread.
My father, Henry Armstead Jr., passed away due to health complications about 24 hrs ago at the age of 57. I'm not bringing this up to get you to feel sorry for me. I know I'm not the first person in the world to deal with the loss of a loved one. In fact, I originally decided to keep this to myself. So really I'm bringing this up to say this. If you are reading this, as soon as you finish the last sentence, PLEASE find at least one person you love, hug them, and tell them how much they mean to you. If you are not around loved ones, pick up a phone. Do SOMETHING! I literally can not verbalize how much I wish I could do that with my dad right now. Do not take any day for granted, because any moment can be your or your loved one's last. PLEASE do not forgo this opportunity PLEASE.
PS. While all love you give to me is appreciated, if you really want to do something for me, say a quick prayer for my dad, family, and his friends.

qft. Had the same thing happen with a 58yo coworker last month, one of my best friends at my company. She went on a one week holiday cruise, left work sick one day after getting home, and was dead the next day.
Sorry for your loss man. Hope everything was in order enough that the only concern is grieving.

Sorry for your loss man. Thoughts and prayers go out.
I've lost loved ones myself, so I can relate.
I'd add one more thing and I think that's kinda what you were referring to anyway. It's not so much about telling people that you appreciate them now, but rather constantly.
Life is short. Don't be a douche.

Thank you all. I really appreciate the support. This has got to be the best board on Realgm. But I guess when it rains it pours. I just found out my grandma (my dad's mom) passed too. Please don't forget to tell your loved ones how you feel.

I've never had anyone that I was really close to pass yet, so I cannot imagine how you feel, but just the thought of that happening.. I can't bear.
Prayers go out to you and your family.. Stay strong and remember that they're in a better place.
