Courtney Lee Question

Post#1 » by heir_jordan22 » Mon Jun 6, 2011 4:05 am

Bulls fan here. Just wondering if the asking price for Lee would still be Asik. You guys already have the 14th and 23rd pick in the draft and I think that If you also have 28 and 30 then you can create a package to move into the top 7 and possibly get Jonas Valanciunas.

So would 28, 30 and non-guaranteed contracts be enough for the Bulls to get Lee, or is Asik still the asking price?

there's no chance and 28 and a 30 pick can land you lee. lee is pretty valuable to houston and you also have to consider the fact of how weak the draft is, those 28 and 30 picks value is even lower than it usually is. unless there is a 3rd team involved that can guarantee houston a high pick that could maybe land Canter or somebody houston really likes, there's no chance. but packing those picks for lee and then houston is left hoping to trade up would not be a good enough deal.

The 28th & 30th picks are guaranteed contracts. In this draft you already have second round talent in the first round, so you can't pretend that the Bulls two very low picks have any value to Houston. I'd say that if the Bulls were interested then the asking price of Asik & the Bobcats pick is still in play.

28th and 30th picks? In this draft?

That barely gets you a rotation player, for crying out loud. Much less one who can start in this league and who would start for Chicago.

I wouldn't say Asik AND the Bobcats pick, but I am concerned about how much better Asik really will get. He played far better the second half of the season than I expected, and I'd be fine with just him, but I would hope for a little more.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

Pretty sure Morey asked for Asik and the pick.

If you want Lee, expect to overpay.

No thanks, if the demand is still that high we refuse the offer, enjoy Courtney and we'll wait til FA starts up again.

Asik is the future.
