Hakeem, I Saw, I Conquered?

Post#1 » by Baller 24 » Wed Jun 8, 2011 12:12 am

I was browsing around and came across this pretty funny/cool tshirt for Rockets fans, lol. For those who don't understand they're trying to say I CAME, I SAW, I CONQUERED, but replaced I CAME, with HAKEEM.

anyways, pretty cool, thought I'd share.

Shouldn't it be Hakeem, He Saw, He Conquered?
the switch to first person is confusing.

I remember a sign from an old playoff game that said the same thing. That was back when Hakeem was Akeem, though. I think it was A-keem, A-Saw, A-Conquered.

So do you prnounce his name "HA keem" or still "A keem" the way it was before he changed it to the more traditional spelling? I remember when he added the H and believe that he said it was still pronounced the exact same way.

So A keem, I Saw, I Conquered would still sound more in line with the original quote and not be confusing.

I don't think it's a silent H but I do remember there was much confusion when he announced the extra letter.

You might be right that the H isn't silent, but I think it said very lightly.
It definitely isn't HA Keem, but rather hA Keem.
